My take on a G27 mount.

I would like a proper seat / stand, but due to limited space and most of them being way too expensive for me, I came up with a different idea. I have been working on this in my spare time this summer. Take a look and see what you think. I will give it a go tonight.

Wow amazing. I just wouldnt like to have a lap rig thingy. But its still very awesome looking. But the Merc logo would have worked better in the center :sly:
Did you make or buy the merc logo? I would like to have on on the center of my wheel. I I
I dont really like the logitech center.

Ding ding! The one in the center of the wheel I bought. The others I made out of CF and then painted!

The lap rig wasn't my first choice, but I do not have the space for a proper rig, and I refuse to use an ironing board!
 
I've never been one for lap rigs (I had a POS Mad Catz MC2 for Dreamcast at one point), but that is really nice work. Depending on how testing goes you may want to consider retention straps too.
 
I was thinking something like an upside T to have under your thighs as well.
 
Kind of forgot about this. I have been using this set up for quite a while. It all works well! I am sure a seat rig is more desirable but for the space I have available this was my option. Quite happy with it. No retention straps necessary either.
 
Great idea... wouldnt do for me though... I would need an extra large hole in the middle.. :D :D :D just kidding
 
It looks nice, but I've used a Madcatz wheel for the xbox 360. It had the same type of lap mount, but it did not work at all for me.
 
Is that carbon fibre I see? You did a very good job; looks like it was bought online!
 
Tis carbon. That is what I do for a living. My kids are lucky, they will always have the coolest projects.
