Physics were already good since previous GT games. They just tweaked.

AI involves also B-Spec aspect of the game.

My impression with the Physics was that they went in for a total re-write since Prologue. Didn't they get they guy in from Enthusia? I could be wrong there.

I thought Kaz said that the entire code base was rewritten and nothing was carried over from GT4. If so, another factor in the time-munching development process of this game. Nice code-resuse there chaps ;)
