My thoughts about the wipers and flash headlights

What is the point of these features? What's the effect when I flash my headlights? Will it change other AI opponents' behaviour? No, I don't think so.

Turning the headlights on permanently during the day would make far more sense than just flashing the headlights!

Wipers... why? Sometimes I accidently turn the wipers on (by using the throttle and brake) when it's not even raining... I think it's ridiculous.

These useless features made the game feels dodgy to me. It doesn't feel like Gran Turismo standard. Remove them please, PD.

It's very annoying! Especially the wipers! When I change the view to the car and found out that I accidently put the wipers on, and had to turn it off. It's just annoying really.

Don't understand how PD spend some of their time implementing such useless features!!

Have you raced at night or in the rain?
I think It's kind of funky.
If It bothers you that much don't allocate a button for It. Change It In setting.

When about to overtake an opponent its always handy to be able to flash a few times as an indication that your coming up fast behind them.......just......like......in real life(reference 24H Du Mans)

Or if your feeling devious, use it as a way of distracting drivers,
The wipers on the other hand are a bit strange given they come on automatically when it rains,
I can only presume its for when in cockpit view you don't feel the rain is heavy enough to warrant there use, though any rain I've experienced has warranted wipers.

Just dont use it.. remove it from controller layout. Done. :sick:
 
That makes about as much sense as Donald Trumps hair... what is the problem, if you accidentally turn on the wipers, you just turn them off again, just like, uhm, real life...
 
Well flashing is useless outside of just bugging people online if you want, but Kaz is weird that way. Why can we change the horns in the cars? Just because, there's no real reason.

Obviously the wipers have uses for those that use cockpit view. Without them I think it might be a little hard to see.

I find the lights useful to signal passing intentions, in my loungs I recommend that all that can give a flash when we are doing free runs.

In real life, I'd like to have them. But in a game, no way.

Having these features in the game is just annoying.

How can you think these features are "GREAT" in GT5? :sick:

how can you think they are annoying? they just add to the realism...
 
Yeah having button assignments for them is pretty pointless. Can you actually see people behind flashing online then? Since you can't see headlights on the SSR tracks it seems odd you'd be able to see them at other times.
 
I love the wipers and flashlights, same as how I always used to wind the window down in Test Drive Unlimited. I normally flash the lights crossing the finishing line and have the wipers going down the long l straights :)
 
It beggers belief someone would think these features prevented PD including more cars.

As for their usefullness the first time I went online I flashed the lights to warn those ahead I was coming through, particullarly usefull for track days. The ability to turn-off wipers is needed when, you know, the rain eases and eventually stops.
 
How are there more then one person in here saying they aren't useful?

Are the headlights and wipers useless in real life? No, at night you use the headlights and when it rains you use the wipers... Just like in this game.

Some people now a days...
 
Still waiting for someone to prove people can actually see the lights in their mirror considering the evidence against it on SSR5/7... I get the feeling you all think you're being cool flashing the opposition but really they're completely clueless as to what's going on.
 
Talking about useless features, I think PD should remove the emergency brake. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I used it! 👍

My granddad uses the e brake at the start of the race just to make sure its working. So between you and him, i think your the only 2. Now that i think about it, apart from going backwards over the finish line, there is no need for the E brake. Good spotting Magburner.
