why are people so excited with that x1 car... are you aware that this is just imaginary car from video game.. no one actually produced one of this things...

Woah, way to poop the party - this is a board for discussing the video game after all!

So, you don't get excited when you buy or win a new car that takes corners faster than you thought possible with your earlier cars? I had a big smile on my face when I started pushing the Minolta race car to its limits. I imagine the same will happen when I finally save up for the Formula Gran Turismo. And then...... THE X1!! :D

Edit: I just had a thought. How does this car sharing thing work? Can you use your friends' cars in A-Spec events? 'Cause then some really nice person with a Formula GT could just share their car with me if they don't use it :)

Ok ladies... it's finally here. i am a proud owner of an x1¡!!! and yes the wheel does turn in the cockpit view.

Yes, you can use it in a-spec events, not sure about b-spec yet I will let you know.

Congrats on unlocking the car, but please remember to follow the AUP rules when posting on the forums. Proper grammar and punctuation are required, thanks.

Considering that Adrian Newey, who is a pretty well known F1 engineer and the RedBull F1's chief technical officer. He has claimed 3 Constructors Championships with different F1 teams. If anything, the X1 Prototype could be the future of racing.

but beware of your using a controller... pray to your god for help

I use controler and have no problems cornering or anithing else.... it's just to get use to it since you must drive this car fast.. I don't think people using wheel have some sort of advantage for this chalenge... it's hard and that's it!!
so all controler users don't worry ;)

Not if idiots like Nick Heidfeld is racing...he is one of the main guys constantly complaining the cars in F1 are getting too dangerous and too fast etc.

Back in the day in 2004 he was complaining like mad along with other drivers...and now the cars are a lot slower...they are even going to change the engines to 1.6 turbo charged engines soon...sad

seriously, anything that makes motorsports safer is good. and any opinion about danger should be heard. i have witnessed imola 94, nobody wants that to happen again.

motorsport is not about having more horsepower every year, but about competition between the best engineers, mechanics and drivers. and it is of highest priority to ensure the best safety of everyone involved (that's not a warranty though).

in it's history there have been so many talented and charismatic drivers fallen victim to fatal crashes, just to recall: what a competition modern f1 would have been if senna survived? or bellof? or villeneuve?

the x1 is a nice concept, for a videogame. in reality, no track offers enough safety for such a fast car (yet). speeds and laptimes like this probably will never happen in real life, and that's a good thing. for the drivers, and for the sport.

You can use it in B-Spec.

Also, for those that haven't noticed, Red Bull X1 doesn't have wipers.

Thanks

Also, do you have to be level 30 to drive the car or just to unlock the challenge? If the level to drive it is lower I'll just level my B-Spec to 30 instead since that's easier but if I need my A-Spec at 30 to drive the car then there's not much point.

once you finish the chalenge the car is in your garage... once a car is in you garage your can use it... so to lv B-spec to 30 it's enough ;)

Can I put a request out to x1 owners?

Please give the car to a brand new bob and set him loose. Then please record it :)

I'm sure it will be very lol-worthy.

Already posted this in another thread but here it is anyway:

Here's what I did my challenges:
Nurburgring GP at 2'13.858 (Bronze)
Monza at 2'05.128 (Silver)
Suzuka at 2'14.816 (Bronze)

Settings:
Manual Transmission
TCS off
SRF Off
AS Off
ASM Off
ABS 1

Mine lap times are:
Nurburgring (Bronze) don't remember the time.
Moza (Gold) 2:02:925
Suzuka (Silver) 2:10:875

Monza is easy. But yesterday i was trying to get gold on Suzuka and boy i went for a shock :scared: I spend 5 hours keep trying to go under 2:10 but i keep having times 2:11:100 So i need to loose that crucial 0:01:100 and there is simply no place for gaining that lost time. Now i know that first lap must be done in less than 1:06:xxx because in second you have to go flat out to go even faster making second lap in less than 1:05:xxx.

I went to replay to just see what i was doing wrong and discovered that S.Vettel on that replay is slower than me !!! Please go to replay and check by yourself, when he is near to finish second lap he is still on the track and clock still counts time above 2:10:xxx so he is slower.

I was doing my lap times in automatic transmission and trying every single setup, with Skid Recovery on and without it, with TC on and off. But after five hours i stuck in this 2:11:100 time zone.

Today i will try to go in Manual but first i have to learn the gears. Suzuka is the hardest of them three.

My best I got on the first lap was 1'05.26x (or .29x forget exactly) but on the attempt that I actually got gold it was around a 1'05.6xx. Once I came within a tenth (0.1) of getting gold when my first lap was a 1'06.2xx because my second lap was a absolute scorcher. In general you do need to get into the 1'05 range on the first lap, but it is possible still to get gold after a 1'06 but you need a scorching second so I usually restarted if I wasn't in the 1'05 after the first.

I do suggest going manaul but I don't know how muxh difference it will make (ever tried auto).

I don't agree about Suzuka being the hardest, I found Nurb GP the hardest due to the big curbs but then again that was the track I was first learning the X1 and I have much more experience on Suzuka.

I think the key is the traction control. I was 1 tc, 1 abs, skid recovery on, active stability on. Active steering off. Go balls to the wall at suzaka. Someone said enter first turn hot, brake late, then full throttle into the slalom turns. It's a very demanding race. But 2:14 seconds of perfection. I took me 5 hrs with the wheel (never used before) to beat the last 2 races. Took 4 hrs to beat monza with the dual shock. What a ride! Also after checking out the YouTube videos, the drivers remain VERY CALM! Don't be b-spec bob and get all flustered.

been trying to do the Nurb race for half an hour now *groans*...

I'm sure i'll like the X1 once driving it normally...i'e not in the challange...

currently it's doing my stack...

back to the grind...

Piece of advice would be to get used to the car on Monza if you don't know any of the tracks well, Then move onto the others. Monza is the easiest of the three because you can cut the corners across the green stuff.

Just to make you guys drool a little, a gold trophy for any of the three tracks will net you almost 1 million XP, good for those later levels.

out of interest you guy's (& girls?) who have completed the challenges bronze, silver or gold, did you use a dualshock 3 or a wheel to race with?

I use DS3 with sticks and just can't seem to get the accel and braking sensitivity right...

I used my G25 and it was easier considerering how fast you're going and you need to be precise and my God it's fun, it took me about an hour to pass all 3 yesterday after grinding for 5 hours which was totally worth it, eventually I'll try and get gold after practising much more with it.

I tried a Dual Shock 3 at first but it was too difficult but after using it some more today it does get easier but I think it can't beat the wheel for this because it feels so much more control in the wheel.

I did some laps on the Nordschleife and it's just amazing, my thumbs were aching from holding on so tight but it's just so much fun like I've ever experienced
