Hello everybody

I was wondering if its hard to drive a streetcar around the Nürburgring in under 7 min. Today I did a 6.56 min in my tuned Nissan GT-R V-Spec.

Maybe some people can post their fastest time in a streetcar around the Nürburgring.

There are a couple of threads of this nature knocking about if you search...

1. Get a standard road car round the 'Ring on sports hard tyres under 7 minutes (not sure if this has been done yet... maybe the F1 will do it)

2. Get a road car round the 'Ring under 7 minutes... no race modifications, any other mods allowed, but must be sports hard tyres... lots of cars have managed this.

If you're attempting this on anything more grippy than sports hards, it's easy.

Street cars only with no race modifications, sports hard tyres and a 550-600bhp limit. Then you have a decent challenge, otherwise its just pointless, as there are a lot of cars that can achieve it in GT5.

6.56 in a Toyota tacoma truck :) fully tuned and tweaked for the ring
Edit; It was 557pp but i used a combo of ballast and power reduction to bring it to 550pp

Stock Audi R8 4.2 on R1's = 6:59 :)
edit: what Stotty said too.

That's an interesting one... I've not found anything that will break 7 minutes under 600pp on sports hard tyres. The 458 will do it at just over 600pp.

I say again, sports mediums/softs or race tyres makes this easy.

That would depend on the car though. I imagine it would be difficult to do in a stock Cappuccino on RS tires. But, I could be wrong.

PP is a bad way to go by things.

I have 3 X1/2010 Red Bull cars, same weight and power, all have different PP. I also have 3 NASCAR stock cars, same weight and power and a different PP. I have a variety of different cars at different performance levels that don't match up PP wise. Its just too random.

If its a high powered car on anything better than sports hards then it's not a challenge. Best I did with a completely stock Ferrari 458 on sports hards was a 7:06, I think that car PP wise falls into the 560 range? at about 580-590bhp. A good enough driver could take that car under 7 minutes without needing better tyres or any upgrades. Though they would probably need to abuse a lot of areas that would wreck the car in real life.

It all depends on what type of tires your running. Racing softs aren't hard at all to get under 7 min. Take a streetcar with sports hards and you have a real challenge.
