What was that about 240kph? So 150mph? On a public road? That's stupid, take it to a track if you want to rev it out like that. And that guy needs to learn not to let the car go up to 10,000rpm's before he shifts, modified motor or not that isn't good for it.

So if someone makes a car capable of handling high redlines of 10,000+ they should never ever go that high? That's what they built it the engine up for. The no engine warm-up I can understand but what's wrong with taking an engine to the redline for couple of seconds? There's nothing wrong if you're drag racing(or any racing really), but if you're cruising on the highway or a street at 10,000RPM or so redline for a good while the engine is gonna wear out quicker. I find nothing wrong with what he did except not letting the engine warm-up and maybe location(I've topped a Corolla out at 112MPH(fuel cuts at that speed) on I-35, poor choice, but all was clear ahead of me).

Why everybody is assuming that the car wasn`t warm????? I was accelerating seconds before, of course the engine was warm!!! I just turned the engine down to wait for the trafic to slow down. I have oil pressure and temperature gauges right on my face. If I did an engine like that I would NEVER do such stupid thing as accelerate a cold engine.

Look at the parts, thats strong stuff that is made to withstand revs, high revs is where the engine gets its power to accelerate like that, the engine has been built for it.

Its like telling someone with a high performace motorbike that you shouldnt rev it above 10,000rpm.

Anyway that was quite impressive for a N/A 4 cylinder 👍

Aye then.

Very fast car, btw.

No need to be hostile or anything, and how were we supposed to know it was your car? You just posted up a vid and car specs, nothing about the owner. So if it is yours, good job and I hope you haven't ruined the exterior appearance.

Mind posting pics of the exterior?

I didn`t mean to be agressive on anyone at all. I just didn`t say it was my car cause sometimes it sounds like the owner wants to show off and thas not my case. But thanks to everyone anyway!
Here is a pic of the car before a 1/4 mile race here in Brazil:

Quite nice, ok I have to ask what did you get down the 1/4?

12.8 (street tyres) but the race wasn`t on a track, was on a place they close to make the races legal. The grip really SUCKS. I guess its a 12.5 sec car in a proper situation.

Wow Vtec. That was digustingly fast for a civic. You make me wanna do something with my Civic lol.

Is there some where I can learn more about N/A tuning? I'm not sure exactly ehat it is. I'm more familiar with FI.
