In most of my setups i use n3's in the front and n2's in the rear. But I decided to change that and put n3's in the rear talso. The n2's are ok, but my drifts seem a little sketchy and im constantly making corrections while in drift. Now with the n3's i can't get the car to drift. What am i doing wrong? I see most of the settings in the settings depot have you use n3's. How is that possible? I can get them to spin in my 750 hp viper, but what about a lower hp car?
 
Any time I have ever put different tires on the front than the back, its been a bad experience..I would stick to n2 all around.
How are you initiating your drifts..? This may have something to do with it.
 
Lower hp car= harder to lose traction, I believe if I can mess with a Skyline with N1's, I would do fine with a Viper on n2 tires..one more note, don't mix tires
 
N5? (supersoft) tires suck on a Viper but N3 (medium) works just fine.

I have been trying to mess with the powerhouse amuse s2000 for awhile. I still havent found any settings I really like. I have tried other s2000s also and not liked those either.
Im gonna stick to my sc300, sileighty and my Z's..
 
Yea i hear ya. The amuse s2000 seems to stiff for me, no matter what you do to the suspension it dosen't change. I'll dump that car and continue to work with my other ones. Just got the viper concept, so that's my new toy for the week.

have you tried the one straight from the shop? the S2k is easy when you put N1's or N2's

I use feint, and power over. I was trying to setup the amuse s2000 with n3's and it wasn't working very well, so I guess i'll just work with n2's.

jeez you guys don't know but who knows its your way of drifting -_-
 
Eh i guess your right. I decided to give it one more crack, so i took the amuse s2k put on a chip, a stage 2 turbo, and some n2's, and i could actually drift. I guess it wasn't working earlier cause i was getting cranky haha. Ima go off to la la land now, and i'll try some more tomorrow. Thanks for everybodies help.
 
the amuse street s2000 will drift on S3's if you up the power just a tad (~300hp).... I don't know why getting the rear loose on a slidier tire would be any trouble.... lift-off with that car is on the same level as the Clio's.
Setting one up on my race game (to race, obviously) on R2's I was fighting with the settings trying to get the rear to stay in one place.

As long as you aren't relying purely on power over to initiate drifts, I've found N3's suitable on some cars at or just above 350hp and approx 1200kg. ...I wouldn't suggest them to cars that have heavy understeer stock. But they're perfect on something like an FD.

On lighter cars it might be a struggle to kick the back out, but a lot of it comes down to suspension and LSD settings.
 
The Amuse S2000 R1 was actually the first car I could drift in GT4.... I remember it having about 300 hp, N2s and "stock" everything else 👍
 
I'd just like to say right quick that mixing tires on FR cars is rather pointless. Usually if you feel the need to mix tires is an issue of technique, not the car itself. Assuming you can drift other cars with consistancy:)

But I agree with BL that it has a LOT to do with the LSD settings. Especially for breaking loose.
 
I never mix around the tires and I always use n3. If im having trouble drifting in a low hp car than i just keep trying new settings until i find the right ones, if that doest work then I migh switch to n2s but usually if that happends i end up switching back to n3 and making it into a grip car.
 
In my foolish newbie ways i thought mixing tires was the answer, but my brothas you have shown me the light. I can now see staying with the same tires is the way. Now i'll shal go forth and use this knowledge to achieve maximum driftness!! Tires shal scream from the heavens, and the valley's will be filled with smoke!! Yes my Lord!! Can i get an ahmen!!!
 
I only use N3's when the weight is less than 1240 kg and has more than 350 bhp...any thing more than 1300 kg and more than 300 hp, I use N2's.
 
Somtimes depending on the tire mixing is a very bad idea because each tire is a different material and they don't agree with each other so it gives each tire different properties so it almost never works. Stick with the same tire all around you'll be gald you did. Their is one mixing that works in drifting and that is ther obivious putting high grip tirs on the front and low grip tires on the rear. That is the best setup. :)

not exactly, because in AWD terms; once you hit that accel the front will cancel the drift. putting Hard Tires in front will act like a automatic VCD especially for the skyline and its special AWD sys,
edit: VCD..since I haven't played in awhile it might mean video compact Disc but thats me, sorry ^^"
