I think old axledude dislikes the Trueno because of it's inclusion in some silly japanese show or somthing.
Personally, I knew it from long before I'd ever heard of whatever that show's called. (I've found that most people who know imports from yesteryear, really know the car too, and for good reason) The reason it's such a little cult classic is due to it's performance levels for what it is, basically just a lil old 80's grocery getter
Somehow, Toyota designed a pretty decent little car, when I'm sure they weren't intending to do so well, or make it so tunable. Now I will grant it, it's definetly not a pretty car, but not all cars are pretty! At the same time, I think it looks kinda cool and like its uniqueness for what it is, a dirt cheap little, sporty handling car. (prices don't show correctly in the game, but half of anything in the GT series is off in that respect) The Shig-whatever edition is just the same car, a bit lighter, with a tuned engine, and with slightly better suspension, in "stock form". If you go to re-sell it, it is worth 250k. Also, I'm not understanding why it is being referred to as such a drift classic? You don't even have to touch the suspension to get it to handle on rails, (with upgrades, does pretty good stock too), and the Shig. version can be upgraded to somthin like 369hp. This combined with light weight and a decent suspension will let it run way past the beginners league. I think axle just likes to get a reaction out of people and mislead them because he has a sick, twisted soul
