i have been to a few ND gigs in my time...definately an aquired taste...but i love them and have been a fan since '88....i bought their cover album 'leader not followers' last week and its trully excellent...
i reccomend the more accessible stuff such as 'fear emptiness despair' and 'diatribes'...they are pretty swesome live especially at a small club venue such as the Glasgow Cathouse...
bolt thrower are pretty aggressive grinding metal but for me they are a bit too repetative they are best sampled on a compilation album such as the 'earplugged' series....but when you listen to them every now and then they really grind out some excellent powerful stuff....
