NASCAR races will be the reason I don't complete career mode. I just can't get them at all.
I understand the simple concept of drafting/slipstreaming etc, but I'm being continually barged into/spun out/blocked etc.

So I wondered if anyone had any tips for me to make it less stressful? DS3 controller has almost interfaced with the wall twice today already heh.

I did them with DS3. For the oval races I dunno what to say really, you gotta utilize the slipstream and you have to also be lucky to not be spun out by the AI, trial and error. Maybe adjust your gearbox a little bit and definitely go to LSD and reduce initial torgue to 10 or 5 and the throttle sensitivity to 10 or 15.

As for the circuit races, you gotta follow a similar strategy. Just push a little harder, brake a little later....remember to see how much pp the races require cause I actually ended up winning a 600+pp race with a 580pp car and it was challenging for no reason.

Within a week I golded everything in GT6 and I think that the Kart 125 Shifter championship is the hardest, I had no real problem in Nascar and I am not even a good driver. It just takes getting used to it and a bit of practice.

Stay behind the 3-4 leading cars until the last round. That worked for me on the oval tracks.

Try some NASCAR setups from GT5, they still work pretty well, multiply the Downforce by 10 and then add the default ride height of a NASCAR in GT6 to the ride height specified.

I haven't tried the GT6 nascar races yet but I will share what helped me in GT5. If you're at Daytona the AI could spin you very easily if you get up into them. You need to be aware of where they are at all times. Do not try to block them unless you are 100% sure that you will be completely in front of them in time for them to bump you. If you think your car may push up into one of them let off the gas and prepare to steer. In other words be cautious all the time and lift off the throttle anytime you feel danger. It's better to lift and still be in the draft than it is to be spun.

Search the GT6 tuning section for nascar and you will find a few tunes. I posted my first 3 speed tranny setup but it was set using 100% power. 3rd and 4th gears should be able to be tuned shorter for your race.

LOL! You sound like me when I was complaining about the kart races and I also almost threw my controller at the tv.

Thats the way. Just hang back of the pack until the last lap then draft them and take them on the INSIDE. If you mess with them they will get you 9 times out of 10!

Stay inside in the corners, use full front down force on Indy and Motegi, pay attention to your blind side indicators, don;t be in to big a rush to get to the front.

The only one I found difficult was the one at Daytona my only advice is to not block use the slipstream to get to the front of the pack and let the AI pass and make sure your in a good position for the finish line.
If you block they will take you out.

Correct. You can take the lead in the second lap, but you will get rear ended by AI during the last lap. Wait, wait, wait, wait and strike.

If all else fails, just cheat and turn on SRF

This is the answer you are after, I was struggling after the AU (Artificial Unintelligence) spun me out a few times like I never even existed, Atleast by using the cheat button being hit by the AI doesn't ruin you whole race.

The hardest one of the races was Daytona for me, after 4 times I did it.

The rest were quite easy at the first try since you can use the full power of the cars. Just hold your line, pass in where you really can and done.

Also I play with a G27...Since controllers are more sensitive (wheels turn way faster and with less accuracy as a wheel) you better try changing the sensitivity in the option menus till the car feel comfortable for you.

Also the main problem is the AI which is like a train...try to hold the line as I said and in the main straight if you are 1st avoid the same line as them (so they can´t use slipstream on you). If they pass you, be patient and use slipstream again.

Have to say the NASCAR stuff in GT5 was a real bore fest for me. I don't enjoy it as a form of motorsport on TV, and I like it even less as a game. That said it's very tactical, and you need to be thinking several corners ahead, so you need to position yourself in 2/3rd going into the final turn whilst in the slipstream of the car in front.

Be careful with your inside lines, as those AI bastards like to get into you. Daytona and High Speed Ring in particular gave me fits. Bide your time and plot your moves.
