Yes, we did some testing yesterday regarding other Sprint Cup cars and for some strange reason they either handle different, or lack BHP. Where as the #24 and #88 they are near enough same.

Just a little update on my side:

~ I can and will use my headset, hopefully everyone can hear.
~ Hopefully I wont have to use the chat since it sends to car into Auto pilot
~ The setup in the Camaro I have lets me dab on the brakes to give a flashing effect, so I'm trying to keep the lighting effect of the pace car. Obviously when they go out Pace Car will be in that lap.
~ Depending on cautions I may have to pit at some stage, I'll either sit at the "Infield" track line or try and work my way round through the gaps in traffic.
~ Finally, the Camaro will be topping out in first gear lol, if it sounds like the engine is about to rip out then it probably is :O

Hopefully we'll get a good nights racing in and people will enjoy the added Stewart / Pace Car. All I can ask for from my side is co-opertaion and commit to what I advise. You never know what can happen in these races.

There must be a option where you can turn your volume up on the headset ?

Some I can here louder than others, but there will be a fair amount of people with headset. So if everyone can co-operate tonight, then we going to have a good event and most important is have fun and enjoy.
 
Fuzzy, has it been decided that we will use the "recommended" Cup car or are drivers required to bring a car from their personal garages? I haven't worked up enough cash to buy one yet.
 
If you guys still need some people I've Read the rules, been in quite a few nascar races or if you need any help. Tagger I might have enough money to buy another nascar and send it to you. (Edit* yup could buy you one. Add me and send me a message for what car... if you want me too.)

Another thing, it looks like maybe one or two people might miss out due to too much interest. I'm really sorry if anyone misses out.
 
It looks like I might miss out today. The arrangements I made did not work. This is very frustrating, since they had all day yesterday, and now need me to drive them around again. I don't know if I will be back in time to race...

Whats the Microphone quality settings like for the lobby? If its set to low that might be whats reducing my sound level. From the PS3 menu its at the 5 loudness.

I've been setting it to high, I'm just looking at settings on the PS3 menu. Accessory settings, scroll down to voice changer, that could be it.

I'll be creating the room in around 45 mins, but remember this will not be for free run, will be for any questions and that.
 
I'd love to give something like this a shot... but can we use the already available Nascar choices? I don't have the means to get my own yet.

The race is a go with a rather intresting start.
Sadly for some reason my connection WOULD NOT let me stay more than 2 minutes in the lobby so I'm not able to supervise which is a big shame. I just have to wait to run it again sometime when the servers are running properly I guess :(

Towards the last 30 laps we got some good action... All in all despite the hiccups was alot of fun, hopefully Tommy can stay on next time to have a better Caution alert...

I nearly got caught up in the turn 1 wreck on the last lap too, i got tapped but guided it to the wall to control it. Then i just drafted all the way down the back straight to take first on the outside, and got a handy bump right before the line. :sly:

Well, that's my last lap analysis. It'd take me absolutely ages, but I could try and film the replay off of my TV using my camera. Sadly the replays don't include the voice chat that was going on 👎 so it won't be the full experience, but its the best I can do. (If I am able to do it). It'll be kinda bad quality too, seeing as my TV is a 15 inch SD TV.

Great racing from everyone too. I really need to get a headset, as they help a great deal in sorting everything out.

Question: when filming the replay, shall i just leave the in-game camera on my own car, or attempt to move it around?

Things didnt get off to a good start with Tommy having internet issues, but towards the end everyone who was left did a good job. I had my doubts about my first ever event created, but knew that it would be tough to execute all the NASCAR rules. I wanted the official rules because NASCAR's rules are unique and taking them away just takes the excitement away. It was more of a learning curve today, we all made mistakes and we'll learn from them and hopefully if we do this event next time, it will be better.

Also tonight gave me a rough idea of the people who know how its done, some however just were not up to it, and I will take note of there names and will make sure they don't enter next time.

I want to thank everyone who gave this event a go, also were willing to sacrifice alot of time for this race. And last but not least, well done to Joe on the victory, man you are awesome with steering controller, you put yourself in the right position at the end, so top job. 👍

I'd definitely do it again if it was 50 or so laps, 101 is a bit much. None the less, it all went well if you exclude the fact that Tommy couldn't make it, and that our pace car driver was useless, and that the pace car got in wreck, and that he dropped out.

It was a first for all of us, so it's no big deal. We managed.
 
The replay file for the race is 1 hour 58 minutes and 51.199 seconds long, so if i do film the replay and then upload it to Youtube it'll take quite a while
 
I think the next time we have a Nascar race[on GT5], we should throw out the rulebook. And the 908 really isn't a good choice as a pace car since when it's fast it's too fast, and when it's slow it's too slow[even for 88 MPH].
 
The very start (That I just got in for) was crazy!
I was crusing after the 123 and next thing I know im T-Boning a #42!!

I'm currently trying to resolve my internet issues, whether its just GT5 (Tried hosting a race and same thing) or if its a general fault, I hope to have it ironed out sometime this week.

But yeah, if anyone is hosting another one of these and wants me for P.C. please dont hesitate in getting a hold of me :D

I think everyone got T-Boned tonight, the issue is the draft, if there isn't exaggerated draft in race then we wouldnt have had that much cautions. Even in free run, it is toned down but you cant hardly bump draft in free run. Anyway, GT5 is still a work in progress and there will be DLC down the line, so hopefully they can sort out the draft.
 
Well I tried 4 times to get there for the Race got onto the Actual Room in good time and 3 times I got cut off , the 4th time I couldn't even find the Room . Gutted i missed the Race . Glad you all had a laugh and enjoyed it

Maybe next time i'll be more lucky :)
