Hello everyone!

Honestly, I'm sick and tired of seeing NASCAR lobbies in Gran Turismo 6. Every NASCAR lobby is a "dirty racing" lobby. So that means that it's a race for ***holes. What's the appeal to this? How is it cool? Getting constantly rammed off the road, pit maneuvered, getting trapped in pit lanes, getting the whole road blocked off, a few other things. It's a pain to start moving again because the car is super slow in first gear. Awful acceleration. What's great about these lobbies?

100% correct. Thats all the Nascar lobbies are. Full of dirty racers that have no talent at tuning or driving. Really hard to hold X and turn left. I have no idea why this garbage is even in the game. My guess is they threw PD a few bucks to include their poor product in the game

It's sad, because that's a really fun style of racing to play. But nobody seems to realize that it's more fun to race instead of smash...but I have super lag, so if anyone wants I can go and enter one of those lobbies to crash everyone? XD

I steer away from these lobbies like they're the plague. I'm from the U.S. and can't understand why there's nearly 3 dozen iterations of Nas-Cars in the game. 16 would be plenty if everyone in a room wants a different livery. My idea of a good oval race is turning the classic American cars into classic stock cars like the Pontiac GTO or the Dodge Charger to name a couple, but those would turn into smash up derbies anyway. The only way to run Nascar is to have damage set to 'Heavy'. That way there's something to risk.

There were plenty of good, clean lobbies in Gt5, I wonder where they went.

Also, Nascar isn't simply full-throttle, turn left. A lot more goes into Nascar racing than so many people give proper credit to, and it really bothers me.

I dislike most American lobbies in general manly because it's usually only Nascar, cruise or drag lobbies. I'd rather race, so I usually avoid local lobbies and race against European or Japanese gamers.

However this doesn't mean I dislike Nascar, I'd just rather play a game that is exclusive to stock cars with all tracks and cars.

Though I'm not very good, I race all three online; clean street, clean NASCAR and dirty NASCAR. I race online to have fun, so I much prefer dirty NASCAR because the rooms are not populated by a bunch of crybabies complaining about myriad race craft infractions the entire session AND it's highly competitive. One thing I've learned racing dirty NASCAR is that there's definitely an art to it, and to dismiss it as simply "turning left" just shows that one has never really given this type of racing a shot. First of all, you're driving a heavy car around a banked oval at over 200mph all the while trying to maintain a driving line, avoid hitting the wall, contact with other cars, and hopefully staying out of the grass. Yes, some guys simply like to crash, but most guys try to finish the race in first place and to do so a special skill set must be mastered. Try getting out of the grass at Daytona sometime. Try to recover from a 200mph 360 degree spin and end up going in the right direction. Try avoiding a six car pileup that's obscured by smoke and haze while going 200mph. Is it the same as racing open wheel at Spa? Of course not, and I just had a blast finally golding the Senna Lotus at Spa in a clean atmosphere. To me it's all fun. The reason there are so many NASCAR rooms online? It's fun.

I guess you dont know the right people. Not all lobbies are dirty. Perhaps try to join a Pro Lobby and see for your self. There are many, many good drivers. As for people saying its hit x and turn left, well you have no idea.

Yeah right. No talent necessary. Just hold X and turn left. I remember in GT5 using the "recommended" car and having no problems winning races against the pros. You might need to be a good driver, but tuning isnt necessary

Tuning is just as important in Nascar as it is in any other racing series. If you try to enter a lobby that allows tunes with astock Nascar, you will be left behind. (I don't mean you personally, I mean in general)

This is a GT6 forum. I highly doubt you used a recommend car in GT5 and had any success in a pro room.

I am aware that this is a GT6 forum, I was making an example in GT5 there was a "recommended" car option. This option isn't available in GT6. As for you doubting my success, that's typical of guys who think they know it all. And being that there are no servers supporting GT5, you also know that I can't prove you wrong. So be proud and keep turning left.

I thought you got rid of this game back in March Mikey? Did I say I know it all,or are you assuming I know it all?Do you think I didn't race in GT5?
If you were beating anyone in an online lobby using a recommended NASCAR, then kudos to you. It sure wasn't the ones I was in. I actually also turn right too, with a NASCAR at other tracks. It's called road course racing. Maybe you can watch them this weekend at the Glenn.

I actually got rid of it long before March, I gave it away to a friend who in turn seen how easy it was and returned it after he completed 100% in less than a month. Then it sat on a shelf until the GT5 servers went down. At which point, I loaded the game back on my PS3 and achieved 100% a second time in less than a week. I believe the total driving time was 31 hours or so. At least the game is improving with seasonals and such, but i don't waste my time in any nascar rooms. The cars are a waste of money and the majority of the rooms are smash n bash, which is what the original gentleman who started this had said. So with that being said I am done arguing with you about your lack of talent at this game

I agree with the opening post Nascar is dire at best. Of course it will appeal to some and that's there perogative and if it makes then happy carry on boys. Me personally I would rather have wasps inserted in my rear than do nascar, I cannnot understand the theory of driving hard getting into a good position then have some clod knock you off and start all over again and that's just the ai. Each to there own I suppose.

Another useless thread of full of whining, complaining, denouncing a type of racing, and astonishing arrogance shown in OP's post and others in this thread.

Heres some solutions for you and all the others whining about this:
If you don't like dirty rooms, :idea:THEN DON'T JOIN THEM!💡 It's that simple. There is also a little something called a ROOM TITLE to tell you what the room is.
If you are complaining that there are no clean rooms, :idea:THEN MAKE A CLEAN NASCAR ROOM!💡
If dirty racers join your clean room, :idea:LET THE BAN HAMMER FALL ON THEM!💡

Even though I normally race clean, I like the dirty rooms because it allows me to vent anger out (especially after getting destroyed on Battlefield 4) and it can be fun at times and challenging to stay up front without getting punted by the person behind. But you don't like anything except the rooms where you make one small mistake, it's treated like you killed someone. Can't take variety huh?

Goodness did you get a good spanking on Battlefield before you wrote that? lol:lol::cheers:

My lack of talent? Now your funnier than the bag of hammers, you played with as a kid. Looking at your 123 post's, of which about 50 are your dislike for Nascar and the other 65 at how garbage this game is, why would one be so inclined to replay "a piece of garbage"? As you so eloquently called this.As for talent,I guess you must have missed winning the car for free during the A spec part of the game.No purchase necessary and you missed it twice?.It's free! As I have stated, as well as others, read the "ROOM TITLE"
If it says "PRO" chances are your going to get your arse handed to you if you cannot drive like "A PRO",full damage, fuel, tires, proper tune, etc, etc. If you would ever like to join one of our other series of cars that us "lack of talent Nascar drivers" happen to run, feel free to PM me or add my PSN. I'm pretty sure that some of our LMP's, GT 500's, or other cars that we race on a regular basis, would surely be up to your "talent level" Yes we can turn right too! Then again,I highly doubt that will happen.

I wouldn't waste your time with him as far as trying to talk sense to him. As you have already found out, all he is about is trolling us NASCAR folks. I had an experience with him a while ago when he went on a rant proclaiming NASCAR drivers weren't athletes. I tried to explain things to him but he wasn't having any of it so I just gave up. I will put this out there to him though. If he thinks all of us NASCAR boys are just a bunch of over weight, out of shape, backwards ass country hicks who don't know how to tune or drive, I will gladly take him on in a race at any track of his choosing with one of these "rolling billboards" as he affectionately refers to these cars as. And after I get done dragging his ass around the track, he then then come back here and correct his rather ridiculous statements about us. ;) So how about it there mikey, you ready to put your money where your mouth is?

It is a thread started by someone with a dislike to Nascar so it's not surprising other folk who are not Nascar fans are going to add their opinions. Yes some will see Nascar as press and turn as that's all they see on it, others who enjoy it will see a whole lot more to it hence the reason they play it. myself I just get fed up of being nudged and bullied I like close racing and not using excess power to be first by lap one and then winning by 30 seconds that to me is boring, but by racing like I do I am suceptable to nudging bullying etc which I don't like hence the reason I give nascar a miss.
It seems a bit pointless asking someone with a dislike of nascar to race you on nascar as I have no doubt you are more experienced at it and will win. So if you dislike the trolling or calling of nascar I suggest you ignore it as your never going to convince a non-believer as to say to change there mind.
Debate is good to alimit it keeps sites alive but when it starts to get silly be the bigger man and turn the other cheek and keep the site as it should be, everyones opinions and experiences which make a good read and a place other people like myself would want to join.
We all have different opinions it's what makes the world go around, enjoy your stuff and don't sweat others who like different things.

I thought I'd seen the last of the NASCAR trolling. @mikeymc92, please for once just give it up. It's pointless and tiresome.

And in regards to the OP, it's simply a matter of fishing the right rooms out. As simple as that. If you don't like the racing in dirty lobbies... fine?

Regarding the last 2 posts. If you ever want to get into some really good rooms, racing NASCAR on more than an oval track,PM me or add my PSN.
I'll even give you the setups, that we somehow don't need or know how to tune. Lol. As a side note %90 of NASCAR drivers use a wheel.

While you do make a good point, there is only so much trolling I can take before I just have to grab the bull by the horns. You see, NASCAR is very near and dear to me as I have worked in and around NASCAR since I was 15 and to see someone continually belittle my sport really gets irritating after awhile, you know? I'm a pretty humble guy and don't usually make challenging statements like I did earlier, but this guy really needs to give his NASCAR trashing a rest. An opinion is one thing, but continually trolling the fans of NASCAR like he has is just ridiculous. I just see it as a "put up or shut up" type of thing, especially after his latest comments.

A big part of NASCAR is crashing. I prefer a lobby that is competitive, a lobby where there is no margin for error. In my opinion finding yourself in the wrong way at 200mph part of the fun, its when it becomes malicious that's where the fun ends.

True, but if you are in a room were you know whom your racing with,it can become very intense. Yes we have crashes,it happens when you have 5 or 6 cars being pretty much equal. In the end we apologize and on to the next race.

Maybe if he knew Nascar is dear to your heart trolling is easy for those who want to troll.
I know it's difficult sometimes to ignore trolling but think of it this way you said you have been in nascar for a great number of years and have huge experience in this field, trollers know very minimum about nascar so are you seriously going to give a hoot to what others say when you know they only say it to wind you up. He went fishing and by arguing with him you have bitten hook line and sinker. Just like the old drunk in the street who is to drunk to stand up but still verbally abuses you what's the procedure you take? easy ignore them and walk away as they are idiots.
The old saying is "if they know it bothers you they will keep doing it" is a true fact. And the best way to get rid of an idiot is to ignore them they get bored and go away. Just enjoy your game bro.
