I've read many help answers on 'Golding' the beginner, intermediate and advanced Nascar Gordon Challenges.

For ALL the Intermediate Challenges on Inside + Outside Lines:
Now, when I turn ABS off and ASM off, the car doesn't seem to be any faster than the youtube videos show.

Am I missing something?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem, I just got bored with it and abandoned it. On the outside ring I was .012 away from gold but I couldn't get any quicker than that, I do think I might need a wheel tbh.

I have yet to even get bronze on the outside Daytona challenge. My reason for posting this is to make you feel better.

Got to within 0.001 of the target time for Gold on one of the Inter events....to say I was annoyed was an understatement lol.

The main advice I would give (having got mostly silvers) is to be very, very smooth on the inside line challenges, and stick as close to the 'line' at the edge of the banking as possible without actually going off it, 'cause then you lose speed.

Don't know whether it helps, but thought it was worth saying!

Well, I guess a free 400k Nascar could be earned in about 20 minutes of grinding rather than an hour of fiddling with settings and knocking over cones.

This was the one thing that buying a wheel made 10x easier to complete. Only because it was easy to hold the car steady all the way around. If nothing else, borrow a wheel from a friend just to complete these...lol.

yeah these are tough, it took me about an hour to gold the outside daytona (by 3 hundredths), but i did do it with a dualshock so it's possible at least. you need to be so gentle with the analog stick it's crazy

If you turn the ABS off it automatically turns the ASM off and that way you can gold the advanced events. As far as the intermediate Indy is concerned do NOT break, just let go off the throtlle. Just remember, once you get he Nascar car do not to give it an oil change or you will need to buy another one for the seasonal events.
I have golded all of these events with a sixaxis, so it is possible

I suck at nascar, I hate nascar in real life and in this game but I don't mind trying it.
I thought I could get at least silver on the last 3 trials, apparently not, I did manage a couple of gold and all silvers in the first 2 levels.
looks like this one will be left bronzed for a while :(

Will try that. Thanks for the headsup on the oil change and I'm crossing my fingers for the Kyle Busch #18 or Denny Hamlin #11 (if I gold the school)

Sorry for the noobish question but what's the cheapest or best value for money compatible wheel around?

I got a Driving Force GT for £80 from Gamestation failing that try Argos , they were around the same price but out of stock when I looked, It normally retails at £120 and its the cheapest good wheel you can get.
