Hello all fellow gtplanet members!
I recently reached a level high enough to take on the A-spec Nascar series, so I decided to give it a try.
As I needed an eligible car to drive, I decided to get all gold the Nascar special event since the reward is a Nascar.
I managed to finish the event after a little bit of consulting here at the gtplanet forum, for which I'm very grateful.

Initially I found the Indy and Daytona tracks rather easy, although the three 'real' courses proved to be quite a challenge.
Then I applied what I'd learned in the special event and it went a whole lot better. Changing the oil and modify and off ASM & ABS made a tremendous improvement,
and I finished second in the series. As you'd imagine I wasn't happy coming in second place, as Ricky Bobby would say; If you're not first, you're last.

So I went to see if there were any parts that I could improve, and indeed there were! I fitted my car with new soft racing tires and swaybars to improve the rigidity.
Together with some gear modifications this gave me almost an unfair advantage towards the rest of the field.
I'm sure I could have managed just as good simply by adjusting the suspension and aerodynamics, but then again for the time being I'm happy as long as I come out on top.

For those of you who are struggling, perhaps you might find it useful to take a look at the settings I used.
(You might also want to consider lowering the amount of traction applied, depending on your type of controller and personal skill. I'd say these settings are pretty much foolproof for anyone as is, but presumably not the most optimized.)

Superspeedway Indy
Gears: 400km/h
Tires: Soft
Traction Control: off
ASM: off
ABS: off

Grand Valley Speedway
Gears: 320km/h
Tires: Soft
Traction Control: 5
ASM: on
ABS: 3

Laguna Seca Raceway
Gears: 250km/h
Tires: Soft
Traction Control: 5
ASM: on
ABS: 3

High Speed Ring
Gears: 310km/h
Tires: Soft
Traction Control: 5
ASM: on
ABS: 3

Superspeedway Daytona
Gears: 400km/h
Tires: Soft
Traction Control: off
ASM: off
ABS: off

Made no changes except added Soft tires. Won by over 7 seconds on Indy. Destroyed the AI in the 3 road courses, got my tail spun out when riding with the pack at Daytona, all three times(1 during the championship, 2 as a test), luckily you've won the championship by that time anyway.

The AI are quite tough on Daytona, but you should be able to gold all these fairly easily.

I use a pad and didn't change any settings on the car (other than add R:Softs). The Nascars handle remarkably well on the road circuits.

You might want to use some ABS until you get used to driving one on a road circuit but it's really not essential. They change gear pretty quickly so you can aim to downshift into the powerband once the back end is straight - that eliminates a lot of the wheelspin caused by the lateral loads on the exit.

Thank you dude! I've been stuck here for a while but with this settings it was like taking candy from a baby :dunce:

I have reach gold in all the NascarSeries ( A SPEC...... B SPEC is a piece of cake ) except the Daytona Raceway... I like to do all the races individually before I click on the Championship Series... Has anybody really reach GOLD on Daytona... I am level 30 A Spec..40 B Spec and I can not get the Gold. I have GOLD in every race or series up to this point.. what am I doing wrong?

Well It's been a while since I did these races but I remember that Daytona took a couple of races to gold. The only tip I've got is to use a car with my recomended setup ( maybe even try to buy a new nascar and do the oil change trick to gain a few extra hp ), and then position yourself around fourth place by the second last corner to draft past the other cars over the finishline. It will be pretty close though.
