Why?? If the drivers can't tell the difference, then who cares?

Would 20 mph extra really create THAT much more danger? 'Dega is flat and wide and smoooth. Let them run, the fences are reinforced, and taller, the spoiler will be back. Then again, maybe 20 mph is all the cars need to really take off.

"Nascar airlines flight 99 now boarding, please buckle your seat belts."

If you have ever driven a street car above 150 you will notice it wants to flip over. Something about the grills and pressure changes inside the engine compartment make the cars front end very light.

Different issues. The 1st, going the right way at high speed, is removed or controlled by front spoilers, or "skirts".

The 2nd, is the airborne problem that occurs in NASCAR, and it's only when they get turned around and have the rear wing and all aerodinamics working "the wrong way".

For me the big problem is the cars shape in the rear. There is way too much space under that rear bumper. When you get turned around, that alone may channel enough air under it to make it fly. Maybe that's where they should put some air brakes or skirts?

I'm with you on this. Guess we'll find out when the Talladega race comes around.

You seem to contradict yourself. The 2nd is the real answer, you might not be so familiar with the reverse flying airplane becaust there is no such thing. Wings dont work that well when going backwards. The problem lies with the tall rear end and skirts. The old cars would lift the rear end but because they were smaller it was less air going in. Now with the bigger taller car there is more air feeding this parachute causing it to lift off. Only way to stop it is to get rid of the only thing keeping the cars on the ground in the first place.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was referring to front under bumper skirts, not the rear ones.

My car has a small front rubber skirt, wand when it came off the other day on a side walk (and I was too lazy to reattach it yet), the front became lighter and the car more sensitive to side winds at high speeds.

I wouldn't call it OK, he broke his ankle, pelvis and right hand. It could have been a whole lot worse though.

Ouch, that looked like it really hurt!

What was that idiot doing going that fast anyway? Okay, he had nowhere to go but he surely should have slowed it up?

I believe the USAR(People who ran the race) still has racing back to the line for caution flags so that is probably why he was going so fast.

Okay that explains it

By the way Justin, good luck in the race, i think you are gonna need it. I smeel a sweep coming for me!:sly:

I'm doing ok so far I think. :)

Edit: And now I'm not. Two of my picks were just taken out. (Martin, Montoya) :(

I share your pain Turbo, I lost one of mine early as well (Logano)

I'm really starting to lose interest in NASCAR. Nothing wrong with the series, just Jimmie Johnson. I never cared for him and still don't. It's turning into F1 just all the courses generally look the same. I'm still going to watch, but no where near the amount I use too. Hopefully the new wing will and something different.

Yea, it doesn't help when the commentators act like he is the second coming.

Good stuff still, keeping it smooth in the top spots, then a great car, and 4 tires in the last pit stop made the difference.

He sure makes it look easy.

And an exceptionally clean racing from everyone added to the "boredom". If you can call it that.

Didnt catch the race, never like short track racing so it didnt realy bother me. Next weeks Ill watch just to get used to looking at the spoiler and keep my spoiler rampage going.

I just made this about an hour ago, basically after asking myself "What would Honda's car look like if they were in Nationwide?"

Its basically still in its test car phase at the moment.

TS
Looks like a monte carlo with VTEC y0!

Hahaha, it just kicked in:lol: Just used a similar Grille mesh as the Monte Carlo.

More here.

God they need to get rid of that goofy yellow paint on the walls

I would assume they had JPM running the wing at one point to see how speeds compared?

Edit: The cars look way better with a spoiler instead of the wing.

Yes they do.

although I didn't check to see if anyone ran with wings to compare speeds.

Video I just made with my new car:

Aren't the new Nationwide cars coming in this week? I want to see the Mustang and the hideous new Monte Carlo.
