And Marcos to a Ford team(ironically what he started in before JTG went Toyota). Now that leaves two questions: What happens with the 98 and who is replacing Sadler?

From what I have heard Ford kind of pushed RPM to sign Ambrose as he has raced Ford's most of his career. As for the 19 and 98, I don't see them being around next season, I think RPM needs to focus on just keeping 2 cars competitive(Not to mention the sponsorship).

It's also sounding like Mobil 1 could be heading to the #14 replacing Old Spice who is heading out at the end of the year.

All this is from Jayski.com by the way.

Hopefully for RPM: Less cars means more resources to make them competitive.

Budweiser could at least do something creative for their sponsored cars. It just looks like they copy/pasted onto the RCR #29 from the RPM #9.

It does, and the font does not look right for the number, I hope they change it, or make it black with a white outline. Bud just looked best on Jr's car.

Well its not the first time they've done something simply plain. Remember the old 25 chevy?

I wish they would have done a throwback scheme to the 80's one like Kahne did earlier in the year.

Just use the newer logos.

For one session, NASCAR Trucks is too good to run on the weekends. NASCAR Whelen Modifieds will hit Bristol later today. Then tonight, the Trucks take on Bristol. This one-off Wednesday race at Bristol for the Trucks has happened for at least ten years, so don't think this is anything new.

Good luck to all racers racing tonight and this weekend at Bristol. Thunder Valley should be rockin' as always.

Somehow, I can't help but think perhaps that 19 will still be at RPM. The 98 might dissappear since it was nothing more then a extra space for Paul Menard and his endless sponsorship. Wonder if Reed Sorenson could perhaps now have a full time ride there after his temporary substitution drive for Brian Vickers at Red Bull(assuming he's not still contracted as Braun's cup driver).

I also still ponder at Sam Hornish in 2011. Supposedly he'll still be there, but will it be full time or on a Sponsor dependent Partial schedule?

The 29 looks so plain with Budweiser red - I'm used to seeing the 29 with some simple yet catching graphics with GM Goodwrench and Shell.

Needs more two tone imo:

Much better.

Damn Kyle muscled his way infront of BK and didn't have enough room...needless to say Kyle thought it was Brad's fault he got into the wall.

If you ask me Kyle started it by trying to get in front of BK when he wasn't quite there and Brad had nothing to do but stuff the brakes or hope Kyle was past him.
I don't mind a bit of payback, but no need to drive through BK like KB did.
If Kyle did the same and just nudged Brad, fine by me, but Kyle has no class and is just not that great a driver.

I was hoping for a drive through penalty, but NASCAR seemed to think spinning KB was OK.

Have at it, boys! :)

Because of some TV conflicts here, I will be unable to see NASCAR Cup at Bristol tonight on TV. The race on ABC will be replaced by the Texans at Saints NFL Preseason game. So I'll have to look to you guys and gals here on GTPlanet to see what all happened at Bristol.

Good luck to all the racers at Bristol tonight!

"Kyle has no class"
I agree with this statement.

"and is just not that great of a driver"
Your kidding right?

Well hang on then, what was the difference between what Kyle did to Brad at Bristol and what Carl edwards did to Brad at Gateway?

And what was the difference between what Carl did to Brad and the ATL and what happened with Ryan Newman and Carl Edwards at Talledega?

Now I am all for the have at it boys but there has got to be a place where you draw the line and say you can't do that because you might end up killing someone.

Yes have at it but have at it sensibly guys

Fixed and that's why the Atlanta and Gateway incidents occured, Carl had enough of Brad ruining his races.

Kyle did it just because he wanted to.

Honestly, All I see is Brad getting what he gave the other drivers (or at least what they felt he gave them). Both times Carl got into him, Brad got into him sometime before. Same with the Bristol race. Brad got into Kyle and Kyle got him back. As much has I hate Kyle and his attitude, he's not the bully you make him out to be as he's fast enough on his own without needing to do it. Thats the first win I've seen come at the expense of Kyle actually wrecking someone and it was nowhere as bad as both times Carl got into Brad this year.

If Kyle were a great driver he should win be winning without the need to turn someone to do it.
He should have tried to pass BK (as they were doing the previous bunch of laps) cleanly for the win.
It looks as though (IMO) Kyle was tired of being raced hard and saw an oppotunity to take the lead and as usual stuck it in there ("trying to make something happen") where it didn't belong.
Remember the incident with Jeff Burton a few races ago, well it's still going on.

If Kyle were great he could win without the controversies his driving creates.
Now in NASCAR, Jimmy Johnson is (IMO) a great driver, the rest are good drivers, with others being mediocre.

I don't care who it happens to, I just see Kyle as he wants to be seen, Rowdy, or whatever.
I don't do, Rowdy, especially racing. 👎

Jimmie Johnson wasn't a "great" driver before he was put into the Hendrick team. His career highlight before entering Sprint Cup was his massive crash in Turn 1 at Watkins Glen. If he is a great driver, he wouldn't have had the seemingly minor issues he has had this year. With all luck, he won't win a 5th Championship this year since he has lost all his momentum.

If anyone is arrogant, it is Johnson. One of the season finales at Homestead where he was barely in the Championship lead, he was complaining over the radio how the other cars were too close to him on the track and he wanted his spotter to relay the message to the other spotters that Johnson wanted plenty of space around him on the track.

What about Martinsville a couple years ago where Johnson bumped Gordon to get the lead? Or Earnhardt, who had a similar style to Busch, although maybe a little more tame.

I think really it should just left as it was short track racing as usual. Someone got bumped and retailiated. Its happened for years so I don't see why Kyle doing it to Brad is any different from drivers who have done it before.

Your forgetting the real reason behind Johnson's success. Chad Knaus.

When he started at Hendrick he got all of Jeff Gordon's winning cars which no doubt helped. But the person really responsible for the wins and titles is Knaus. He's consistently put Johnson in a position to win and he has bent the rules as far as possible to get as much of an advantage as possible. Some are furious and say hes a cheater but you cannot question his worth ethic.

Not sure if anyone has seen the HBO series 24/7 Jimmie Johnson Race to daytona but if you've seen it you'll see that it is Knaus who is mostly responsible for the 48's success

And one more thing. Those upset about Johnson dominating NASCAR recently must not have been around in the 90s when Gordon dominated NASCAR even more thoroughly.

Jeff Gordon stats, 5 years from 1995 - 1999

47 wins, 3 championships, one 2nd in championship

Jimmie Johnson stats, 5 years from 2005-2009

33 wins, 4 championships

If your sick of Johnson winning now you would have REALLY hated Gordon and most fans did, booing him etc.

These things happen in sports, a dynasty will appear then it will move on. Johnson's time is almost over just relax

I'm a Gordon fan..... and I still hate Johnson. There's nothing about him I like.

Jeff Gordon also had to deal with Dale Earnhardt in the final years of Dale's career. Jimmie never had to because he came in after Dale's death.

Believe me when I say that Jeff Gordon had plenty of other drivers to deal with.
Remember the "Jeff and Jeff show" years?

I have been watching NASCAR longer than you have been alive and Dale Sr. was not in his prime towards the end of his career, when unfortunately there was plenty of retirement rumors, not from Dale, but the fans and media.
That's because he was not performing well at that time.

And thanks for commenting on a subject that you are not biased about.
I'm certainly not a Johnson fan, but to hate any driver, even Kyle B, is nonsense.
I prefer to use the term, "I don't appreciate them", but that's me.

Well can I wade into the mix and ask this;

We are comparing Jeff Gordon to Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt but what about Rochard Petty, perhaps the greatest of all time?

Petty has won 200 races compared to Gordon's 82, Johnson's 52 and Earnhardt's 76
Pole positions go to Petty as well 127, 69, 24, 22
Championships goes to Petty as well

I would argue with you all that Richard Petty is the greatest of all time
