I just wanted to clear the air and the confusion about what the proper name of a Nascar race car is. For the record it is officially called a Nascar stock car not a Nascar "nascar." Sorry to be nitpicky, and if this has been discussed before the my bad this forum moves so fast its hard to keep up.

If we're going to be proper, NASCAR should be all CAPS as it is an acronym: National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.

On a different note, I am curious as to the differences in the GT500's vs NASCAR. I'll be starting some comp testing. I'll post the results if there's any interest.

What do you mean by differences? I'm not too familiar with the Gt500 racing series but i would assume there are many differences with the two series.

Super gt less weight, less power, more down force
NASCAR more power, more weight, less downforce.

2 different cars with 2 different goals so comparing will be hard. Now comparing super gt and dtm much closer for comparison

I mean finding out which series wins on which tracks. I am sure the GT500 would win at Tsukuba and NASCAR at Daytona...but what about other tracks? I would bet the time would be pretty close. Or at the least, I am curious which would win. More HP vs less HP...more weight vs less weight.

Super GT and DTM have made an agreement for like 2012 or 13 I think where they're going to share the exact same regulations. So we will probably see Audis, Mercedes, and maybe even BMWs tearing up Japans courses while Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans rip up the European circuits.

Thread of the year right here!!

Thanks for that 👍

Indeed. I struggle to find any other thread with the exact same premise, and yet this momentous revelation doesn't seem quite so momentous enough to require its own...
