So I played the demo, it takes a while to start playing the game. When you get to the car chooser screen, they shove a shiny red Porsche in your face.... the pricks. The racing is ok, its like rush mode on Forza 4 but your car feels like its on ice. You cant race inside of your car, only the back view, hood, and nose views are available. I do like the idea of racing across America, cause that would be a lot of fun in real life!

So if you like eating wallpaper paste Need For Speed Run is your game.

I think this game will be a huge failure... NFS The Run will not get my money. ^^

Every NFS games since after Underground 2 and Most Wanted have been huge letdowns.

NFS U2 and NFS MW is still the best NFS games i've played.

I agree this game is going to be a disaster. Who the heck thought it was a good idea to put QTE (quick time events) into a RACING game??!! 👎

I havent played the demo but this is my opinion of the game so far. I simply hate QTE.

Need For Speed Hot Purstuit 2 on the PS2 was my favorite of the seres. But Criterion did a great job with NFS Hot Pursuit on the 360. Thats actually a very fun game.

Im glad I kept my PS2....
However I was stupid enough to sell almost every PS2 game I had, including NFS U2 and MW. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I sure miss the old days.

I recently re-bought NFSU2 and I'm playing it on my girlfriend's PS3 as it's the backwards compatible model. It's still a brilliant game, the modification options are awesome! It's a shame the drag racing is terrible though.

NFS 1 and 2 were really fun games for sure. The best drag racing I have ever seen in a game was Pro Street. That was the ONLY part they got right with that game. You pulled up and did a burnout to warm up the tires, then staged, and then ran to the end. It was excellent. Too bad the rest of the game sucked. Especially the drifting in that game. It was terrible.

I love the modifications, and taking pictures, and neon, i miss all that!

I too loved the drag racing in Pro Street, and making a drag-specific car was great fun. But you're right, the rest of it was terrible.

Me too, I still get genuinely excited when I unlock a new part in Underground 2! The trunk audio installs were a great idea.

Painting was so much fun, and you would have crazy designs and car would do such crazy stuff. I sometimes wish i could do that in Forza, cause at heart your still a kid sometimes!

You lost me a little with that reply. I think NFS allowed 12 vinyls per side. Forza allows 1,000 per side and around 4,100 total. You can do ANYTHING in Forza when it comes to painting. Maybe I misunderstood your reply.

Ya i know you can paint and do vinyls, but like the neon, and the smoke, and just stupid stuff.

I haven't really played a NFS game properly since the first Underground game? I gave up on the series as don't like the handling etc of the cars and the general arcadeyness of them (well, they aren't sim's).

The Run just doesn't excite me, it might be because of Forza 4.....

NFSU2 and NFS MW were two of my favorite games. Most Wanted was the first game I ever got 100% on acheivements.

I played the crap out of Hot Pursuit when it came out, but I got tired of it after a few months and sold it.

I wish they would go back to the Most Wanted/Underground days.

The Run looks pretty awesome from what I've played, the very nature of it makes unique. But the MW style of gameplay was successful, just bring that back. 💡

You should check out the recent NFS game Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. They finally went back to their roots and made a true NFS game. Police pursuits and every. Its very good. 👍

NFS Run- What a bad title. They are telling you what to do, run. Run far away.

NFSMW was EA's best achievement with the NFS series, the rest that came after (cough*Carbon*cough What A Cold I Have!) has been mediocre to downright crap.

I personally feel that NFS Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2 was the best NFS game. But Criterion did an excellent job with the recent NFS Hot Pursuit remake. Very fun game.
I didnt care much for Most Wanted. Tried it on the xbox then tried it twice on the 360 and just did not enjoy that game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't EA BlackBox develop NFSMW? What happened to them?

I think you meant that Black Box worked on Hot Pursuit 2. I have no idea what happened to them because that was the best game of the series. I am guessing they must have lost all their original crew becuase they have went downhill big time with their game developing. I have no interrest in The Run. QTE in a racing game? What the heck is wrong with that company? I dont even plan to rent it. Let Criterion work on the next one. They did an excellent job with the Hot Pursuit remake.

And that's how I feel as well. But before I started to appreciate the game, I went on being a fanatic of the Underground series which when I was young, though it was the most awesome game ever exist in this world. Turns out those are probably the worse. Now I feel loose to the Underground series, even tried to get back but never got myself on it again and got stuck back with HP2.

Most Wanted is by far better than any of the Underground Series despite the Underground 2 having more content and a much longer career though I also think MW has also got a pretty long career to go through but it has an interesting story. I actually enjoyed that one...

However, when it comes to Pro Street, everything went very bad. Undercover? Nothing special. Then we started to see the rise of the franchise, because I think the HP Remake is by far the 2nd awesome NFS of all time after the HP2. The Run? Well, the trailer looks somewhat interesting but I'll reserve my judgement... I have a 50:50 feeling that it's going to be a success and failure. The most awesome thing in my opinion? The race across America. That's got to be fun!

So like Need For Speed World? The online game with free roaming?

I think he meant something like races in the Midnight Club franchise. You race, but not in a controlled circuit. Race to the destination but you are allowed to use any different route available.

EDIT: Then again, I've never played the NFS World...

Or that, yeah. Just don't do it like Midnight 3 Dub Edition, that game was :yuck:

I loathe that game. The irony though, that's the 2nd game that I spent the most time with

Just forget about the modifications stuff in the game and the soundtrack. Other than that, I think the races are pretty difficult and nerve racking!

That's why I didn't like it!

But then that's what made the game so different, interesting and unique. My opinion obviously :p

That's the challenge! Navigating yourself on the map is such a pain in the neck but it didn't left me dry spending my money for a game that is no different to the others. Anyway, I think we've dragged it pretty far down the river
