Need guidance on shaving.

Well, I finally took the plunge, and I have ridden myself of that mideous mustache.

Got myself a pack of 8 disposable razors, Gilette Shaving Cream, and Gilette Aftershave. Surprisingly, it was quite comfortable, and I didn't knick myself at all. There was some bleeding though, caused by some slight pimples my mouth which I probably cut whilst shaving. But all in all, a good experience. The aftershave burned a little bit, but it was alright.

Welcome to the wonderful world of shaving! My, they grow up so fast, don't they?

If the aftershave has alcohol listed, it'll burn. If it get's to be a problem, or an annoyance, buy some new aftershave without said alcohol.

It depends on the person. I need it either way.

I use a Remington rotary electric on my face, and a Schick Quattro Titanium (4 blades, one on the back, and an electric trimmer with adjustable guard) for my neck, sideburns, etc every week or so.

If you keep track of your shaving, there will be no problem at all with an electric.
Fixed!:dopey:

I took the dive last Tuesday. I tried my dad's electric beard trimmer, It barely put a dent in my facial hair. I had to resort to the disposable razor.

Not for me. I shaved with an electric once - brand new - and couldn't turn my head for 3 days.

Am I the only one who doesn't use shaving cream? I just Mach 3 the crap out of everything when I'm in the shower.

Yeah, I tried to do that.......my neck was painfully red almost the entire day -_-'

But back to the question at hand, I use a Gillette Mach 3 and just buy the cartridges for it (yes, I know this is unbelievably expensive over time, but so is gas, lol). I opt to use either soap or, if there isn't as much facial hair, nothing and I just shave in the shower. However, going against the grain causes my skin to become irritated so I choose not to go that route.

As a corollary, waiting a week to shave is not exactly the best idea unless you have very little facial hair >_<
