I'm getting myself a hardcore-mega expensive-super-kitty gaming laptop, but I cannot decide which one to choose. I've picked out a couple that I will choose between. any techies who can tell me what is good and what to avoid? Help is greatly appreciated. Well, here are the contenders:

Toshiba Qosmio X770-10J

Love it's design, looks awesome, but a little old maybe?

Alienware M17x R3

Looks chunky, a little show-offish?

Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7A

Expensive, manufacturer not experienced in gaming?

MSI GT70

My personal favorite, good specs and lots of awesome lights :dopey:

ASUS G75VW-T1040V

Heard much good about it.

That's all, please post what you think is best and what is best value for money and if any of them are known to have problems.

And no, I can't build a PC, I need a portable computer.

Why no origin laptops on there. You can just go to their site and have them build it with whatever you want. You could even put 2 680s in one if you want to. They have base models then you just add to that. They make the most powerful laptops money can buy.

I would imagine for the 2900$ price tag of your favorite you could better that with origin. No need for 2 ssd drives like the Msi has and you could probably get 2 670s from origin If I wasn't on my phone I would have a look.

Should get the Asus. It has the latest IVY Bridge cpu and it has a 670M gpu. Which means it's more energy efficient than the MSI laptop. That also means it will perform better with battery life. Both the Asus and MSI have the same gpu and cpu. And according to the reviews, the Asus is also quieter than the MSI laptop(having a quiet laptop is nice). You may have to consider the glossy plastic on the MSI would get old and this is where the Asus is better. It has a metal keyboard case(with backlight I'd like to add) and the other areas are coated in rubber.

I'd like to add that I've been using a Asus N-series laptop for the pst three years and it has a rubber coated plamrest. It's very nice and it's pretty easy to take grease from your hands off even after 3 years. I'm personally an Asus fan and you can probably tell that my post was a bit biased in that way. You should note that the Asus laptop also has a model with a 120hz display and can do 3D graphics if you like that.

Apparently they refuse to ship to Norway, else I would probably get one of those.

Why on earth does a gaming laptop (the MSI one) need a Blu-Ray burner? That makes no sense to me. Surely you could get a similarly-specced gaming laptop without a fancy disc drive to make it a little cheaper?

I've searched, but nothing similar without it. If you got one, I would appreciate if you posted a link.

Yeah that's true its hard to spend $1200+ on a laptop and it not have a blu ray drive in it. I think the companies go with the logic: Well they are already spending that much anyway...

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions, sorry. Just an observation really, it's kind of like selling a racing car with sat nav. Then again if it's your only computer then fair enough I guess.

Is there a 1000 / 1200 euro laptop able to run pCars at 60 fps in 1920 x 1080, full antialiasing and aniostropic filter?

Ok. How much time do you think it's necessary for a similar performance laptop to reach that price range or even about 1500 euro?

You're wasting your time looking for a laptop to run pCARS maxed at 60 frames, I'm telling you that right now. You'd be better off building a proper rig if that's your intention.

Hmm ok, I'll see what I can do with my work, I think I'll need to be away from home when they'll open new offices. If I must move, do you think there's a 1200 / 1500 euro laptop able to run rFactor 1 at max details, 60 cars on track, and hdr plugin?
Graphic will not be as fancy as pCars but good enough for me.

^ T-12 speaketh the truth. The fact is, a laptop is still a laptop no matter how much money you throw at it. It still has a low(er)-power integrated mobile graphics chip and there's no getting away from that - a go-kart mounted under a fridge still leaves you with a fridge, that is it could have all the VRAM in the world and it would still suck because of what it is (namely a graphics chip with stuff lopped off the sides to help with temperatures and power consumption etc).

I don't even know of a desktop card/card combo this side of (possibly) SLI 670s that could possibly max pCARS at 19x10 8xAA 16xAF!
