Im only 2 races away from completing the expert series and im having a bit of trouble with this historic race. I have a Z28 Camaro RM with soft racing tires but cant seem to keep up with the other cars, any tips on tuning or different cars to use would help. I heard the lamborghini countach is good but only on one race, but i have to see it randomly show in the used car lot :(

I did it with a fully upgraded Shelby Cobra but it's a bit of a handful to control, if you're confident enough in your driving use it, if not the B-spec Like The Wind event prize car is a Toyota 7 Race Car and it's pretty straightforward with that car.

Take the Cobra and do 10 - 15 practice laps on the course before the race, start off at a steady pace then gradually start pushing the car more and more. Get to know the car and track before you jump into a race, especially ones like the historic event which is pretty hard without a race car.

I did this last night. The guide suggests the lambo, but I used the Camaro Z28 RM. Struggled with really bad understeer in the lambo (and the front lifting at every elevation change which didn't help). The camaro though won both races comfortably at the first attempt. Cote d'azur was the easier race as well

You can easily do both races with the Countach. Just match your transmission properly to the longest straight and on Monaco just add some toe out to your front wheels to give you better turn in.

Fully mod the countach, add aero and racing softs then go run practice laps on deep forest until you can run 1:14s but regular and consistent low 1:15s. I ddid a bit of suspension work to achieve this reliably but it wasnt rocket science. If you can do that its a piece of cake.

Did all of the tuning on the lambo, wing as well. I put the aerodynamics to maximum and upped the gearing slightly, but without wanting to dive deeper into tuning I couldn't get the thing to handle at all. I think I managed a lap...

Not saying it isn't impossible at all, I'm sure the above works. I just meant that if you are not completely comfortable with your driving abilities then the Camaro is the best route to take since you don't need to change any settings (though again I did change aero and gearing slightly).

Preference also comes into it, I'd rather have a car with oversteer as I'll control it with the throttle / steering / brakes. Understeer is more difficult to dial out though, especially when just the rear wheels are on the tarmac for turn 2!

I used the Camaro on deep forest and managed a win. The key seems to be to get in front before the Toyota 7 has a chance to pull away. The second race was a bit more than I could handle in the Camaro so I went back with the Toyota 7.

You can also just wait and come back to that one. At level 28 you can get the Jag Race Car. I haven't tried it with the Jag but it may do a better job than the Camaro.

Toyota race car 7 or whatever it calls does it easy. 4.4 million I think though, when it pops up in the used car list)

Why can't I use my Jag XJ13 chromeline for this race?

The chromeline cars are useless for anything that requires the cars to have a correct release date. It seems they all have 2010 creation dates. The stealth cars however do not. It is strange.

Wow, thanks for clearing that up..looks like I'm off to race mod my camaro
