Hu guys, I'm looking to do some time trials in Nurburgring Nordschleife and get better as a driver so I have choose the track but my doubt is about the car I will take. I'd like to drive something like 911 GT3 RS so can anyone tell me what car feels like 911. I was thinking about R8 LMS '09 but I prefer some premium car(Maybe 458 or 430 Scuderia). Thanks

Drive a pendulum.

Really I have 85 premium so far, none Rear Rear, except for the Kubelwagen or whatever it's called.

An Elise with lesser tyres would help you become a better driver.

Your best bet would be the RUF yellowbird. But if you're bent on driving a premium.....well, you're probably out of luck as far as RR cars are concerned.

Only a 911 feels like a 911, so why not recreate as close to a GT3 as is possible in the game...

You could take a RUF RGT and turn it in to psedo mk1 996 GT3... engine and weight as is, height adjustable suspension, LSD, lightest flywheel, uprated clutch & sports hard tyres.

This car is awesome. The closest you'll get to a modern 911 in this game, unfortunately, no premium.

Second the RGT. But if you want to learn the track start with something slower, too much power will just get in the way of learning the line...

I don't really advise you to use the Yellowbird. It will never forgive any mistake you might make. In my opinion, you should go with a stock Honda NSX Type R '02.

I was typing the same car, it's awesome to learn Nurburgring and so fun to drive 👍

RUF RGT.

If you just want a car to practice the ring on time trial why no go for the Nissan GTR '07? Most user friendly car to drive fast plus you have the Official Record Trophy target to aim for.

As others have mentioned, use an RGT. It's very forgiving, with good manners in the corners, and is capable of putting down some very quick times. Any lift-off oversteer can be corrected with little drama, and any power-on oversteer can be fairly easily reined in before tings get ugly. It can push wide on some corners if you try to drive it too hard, but it's not too, too bad.

If you trying to learn the ring I'd strongly advise against the Ruf yellowbird and Honda NSX ( the Ruf RGT is ok to use). There's nothing wrong with them once you know your way around the track but there not starter cars for the ring. It's alright saying the Ruf is unforgiving but that's exactly what you don't want as you'll get thrown off the circuit too many times and get frustrated. There are alot of complex camber changes and braking points in the Ring and the NSX is not much better, it's a twitchy car unless your start tuning the suspension to suit.

If you want a car that will let you focus on learning the track rather than having to concentrate on keeping the car from spinning then the easiest car would be a Nissan R35 GTR, if you want to stick to rwd then a BMW M3, M3 CSL or M3 GTR would be perfect.

To give you a benchmark we race in a 333hp per tonne forum so in the BMW M3's it's about 400hp and 1200kgs and I get round in 7min 15 seconds. The Skyline R35 GTR is quite a bit quicker and can lap in 7min 04 seconds, this is with 580 hp and 1740kgs. Both these are also set using sports soft tyres no TCS and ABS set to 1.

Also if you find the number of corners bemusing to learn and forget what's coming up next then break it down into learning different sections at a time. The reason I say this is it's a very high speed circuit for example after the first complex of left and right turns you go down the hill and up the other side approaching a right hander. The braking point for this is key as it's a double apex corner and go in too fast and you run off onto the grass and into the barriers, also after the straight that follows same thing again, you'll be doing circa 160mph braking into a fast left hander, get it right and you can carry alot of speed, get it wrong and you'll be off into the barriers.

The Ring is a narrow circuit so you have to be precise and know where to put the car for the next bend. I run about 10 laps of the Ring most nights and once you know where it all goes it'sa very challenging circuit and you'll see your times tumbling down.

Good luck and enjoy.

If you can't find the Yellowbird or the RGT in the UCD: I have them both. Drop me a line and I'll hook you up tomorrow.

The NSX a twitchy ride?

The NSX a twitchy ride?

Definatley not a learning car, i do have an NSX LM roadcar which I haven't used yet, might get that out soon for a blast.

It does take a while to learn the track well and I probably do 50-70 laps of the ring each week and never get bored.

I don't know. The NSX R is far from being twitchy, one of the best handling cars in the game without having to mod the suspension.

I always run one lap on Nordschleife when i turn on gt5 in my ps3.
I was aiming for GTR 07 record but since i beat it recently i choose to drive one of my favorites (m3 csl, m5, m3 gtr).
With every gauges off and cocpit view its simply stunning experience :)

I'm in a similar situation I wan't to learn the "Ring" .

Started off in a Samba Bus ( Oi don't laugh the track scares the **** out of me) . Got round in one piece *eventually"

Next up I tried a Scooby WRX and managed two clean consectutive laps both just under 8 Mins each .

So now i've found a Car I can use without it ending up as a wrestling match i'm going to be doing a few laps each night to learn the track .

Also tried it in the DB5 and that wasn't too bad but did have a few offs :guilty:

My favorite car on the 'ring so far?

Suzuki Cappuccino w/ Race Mod.

Seriously.

Not so fast as to be super stressful, fantastic handling, premium so you can drive in cockpit if that's your thing. The lower speed lets you focus on your driving line and finding the apexes, and it is RR which I prefer.

Lately I have taken to driving with no HUD and I find I learn more and better develop my driving skills. With the map and the blinking gear change indicator I found that I wouldn't plan for corners. My game has definitely improved after a few nights playing like this.
