I know this thread is going to get moved but the reason why I posted here, is because this section gets more attention, so please can you move it, after it gets at least 1 reply?

I have a ps2 but for some reason, I am convinced to get an Xbox. Games like Halo 2, Raven Shield, Unreal Championship are the ones that I want. So, I was thinking about selling my PS2 along with 5 games. Am I doing the right thing?, The reason why I ask this is because Xbox is doing miserably, but it has some good games, and I dont buy all the games but a few that I like. I dont think Xbox can make it after this year too.

Well, I like the Xbox, and it has potential (I have one btw) but it just has an incredibly weak game library. Halo is fantastic, and one of the best games I've ever played (until others start to copy it and up the ante) but one game isn't really enough to warrant a purchase. Unreal Championship should be good to, but I'd wait and see how it pans out, I forsee too much online cheating for my tastes (Unreal is pretty useless without the online component.)
I would wait until next year and see how the Xbox does. Most of this years big name titles have been major duds (Wreckless, Blink, LOTR, Hunter, Quantum Redshift, Azurik, Bloodwake, Bruce Lee:QOTD, etc etc...) and I feel as though MS is placing too much pressure on developers to release games in a timely fashion rather than wait until the quality is there.
I would keep the PS2 (It will always have more games with 40 million units shipped to the Xbox' 5 million.) Sell of your games if you have to, save your money. Wait until you can afford to buy the Xbox on your own. It would be a huge mistake to dump the PS2 for a console that may have a bright future, but on the other hand might go the way of the Dreamcast (minus the great library.)
Aside from that many Xbox games are heading for the PC (Halo, Unreal is already there, Rallisport, MotoGP, Splinter Cell, and so on and so forth.) And current Pc technology puts the Xbox to shame graphics wise (Morrowind and MotoGP proved that to me.)

 Most Biased Post Ever

One thing about Unreal Championship, why buy it for the Xbox when you can get UT2k3 and Unreal 2 for PC....I dont see the point in spending $50 for the game, $200 for the system, $30 for an extra controller or 3 instead of spending just $50 on the PC game.

Don't bother with Unreal Championship. It's just a washed down version of UT2K3.

Halo is the only game worth buying for XBox and it's coming to PC. So, now there is no reason to buy an XBox. Keep your PS2 and be happy.

The thing is Raven Shield is coming for PS2 and GameCube a little later than XBox. The only reason why it's going to be so early for that is because XBox uses an OS very similar to ME or XP, I forgot which... But since it's very similar, they don't have to change much coding, and those 700mhz's also help a bit too...

PS2 has a game that's called Gran Turismo 3.......man that's all I need

and Tekken
and maybe some Twisted Metal

Keep it!!

XBox = hype (3DO of this generation) I'm just biased against Microsoft and Bill Gates and Windows and monopolies and money ruins everything and I'll shut up now.

P.S. The system looks ugly (more opinion I know)

KEEP YOUR PS2!!! :) But still get the Xbox with the pack... :) That's what i'm going to do ;)

Well if you are gonna get a Xbox..theres some certain things you must do before purchasing it..

1)Call your states capitol and tell em your buying a Xbox (that way itll have its own area code and issue one to it)
2)Dont attempt to carry the xbox on your own, rent a fork lift to carry it out for you
3)Dont let the Xbox grow, or itll create a supernova, and create a black hole
4)If you live near a military base, theyll accidently nuke your house
5)Dont stare at the green thing in the middle of the xbox, or youll turn into the hulk
6)Dont leave it at your grandparents house, theyll think its a 80's VCR and start jamming VHS tapes into the cd drive
7)Dont set it on a table, itll break
8)If you have any birds, Dont let them get close to the Xbox fan...unless you want chopped chicken breast
9)Dont sleep with the xbox, if it rolls over, your dead
10) last thing you should do with a xbox, use it as a doorstop

First I would consider keeping the PS2 and also buying the X-Box.
Thats what I'm doing.
With the big bucks backing X-Box from Microsoft I doubt it will settle for #2 forever. Just give it time and the programmers employed by Gates will be pushing out more and more games
not to mention the scores of bandwagon jumpers that will be scrambling to get a piece of the action. There is a lot of money to be made in the gaming industry and I'm sure Gates will grab up as much as he can.

Besides, everything I have read the X-Box is a more powerful unit.

:chevy: :chrysler: :dodge: :mitsu: :alfa: :nissan: :shelby: :cobra: :Plymouth: :horse: :mclaren: :venturi: :maserati: :lancia: :gm: :jaguar: :tvr: :viper: :car:

X-Box does have some cool games with cool graphics, but.....much like microsoft computers.......they lag. Bad. I really enjoyed Obi-Wan. It was a cool game....when it wasnt going 5 frames a second. The X-box is cool, but it just can't handle high speed games with lots of stuff going on at once.

Sell it. I say just sell it. Get yourself an Xbox. That is the way to go. Not only is it the most powerful console but it is also the one with great exclusive games. So what if PS2 has the GTA series exclusive? It's only until 2004 anyway.

Games you will find on Xbox that you won't find on PS2

Rally Sport Challenge
Splinter Cell
Halo

That's only 3. I can name tons more that are awesome. Get yourself an Xbox. End of subject. Now go sell it!

#3 actually, the GC is about 700,000 units ahead worldwide.

This thread was a month old when MXTHREE drummed it up again, so I doubt that there is any more debate going on for tercel.
If I had to choose between only one of the three, I'd sell my Xbox, and reluctantly my GC. The PS2 has sold 30 million more units than either of the competitors, which ensures a stream of great (and not so great) games at all times with no dry spells (unlike the other two.) Add to the fact that the PS2 has free internet access for games and Squaresoft and you have a lock.
Throw in a side of Gran Tourismo (No other console racing game comes close) and it's a no-brainer. :)

I dunno, GameCube might be worth getting just for the ResidentEvil games coming out for it(those bstards stopped making em for Playstation, shows how LOYAL they are!)

Yeah, RE and possibly some other games that might come out in the future. However, I have a slight feeling that if GameCube didn't get RE, it'd turn into the DreamCast...

Your judgement is a little faulty there. While it has a 700mhz P3 processor*, it also has to use so much for the external cards it has(hence why people call it a computer, because it has vid cards like the ones you put in the PCI slots in your computer.)

PS2 has a 200mhz (I don't know what type of processor it is, but it works similar to how the Xeon processor works, which means more commands per cycle, kinda like the AMD vs Intel, but you get more commands per cycle with the PS2 chip compared to AMD even...) and all of its cards, like video and audio, are built in, which is why Sony even makes a profit off of selling the consoles, compared to Microsoft losing so much $$ for each console it sells(they get much more revenue back for each disk they sell, however.)

I don't know how powerful Nintendo's GameCube's processor is, but I'm guessing that it's similar to what's in Apple's computers. I base this on the fact that while Microsoft's XBox uses a form of Windows, Sony's PS2 and PS run on their own version of Linux, Nintendo(fact) uses a form of Apple's OS system. Now it's only recent that there's talks about how Apple MIGHT create an OS for the x86 processors*, but it's pretty far into the future.

* All Intel processors (With exceptions possibly to their original computer processors dating back to AppleIIe's) are x86, wether it's 286, 386, 486, 586(the original Pentium processors), or up. I'm not sure, and I forget, are Pentium 2 and Celeron both 686's? I ask because they're the same thing, but Celeron just has something removed from its processor that a Pentium has, or is it similar to P3? Anyway, you see the point...

Uhh...ok? Excuse me for being faulty on my statement. I was just trying to point out which console had the best graphics in my opinion. Maybe I should have been more define.
