About the Camaro. I dont have one but look at the max HP and if it is low on the rpm scale then you need to set a high top speed, if its high then set it close to where it tops out about 10mph after the trap. If you have to set the top speed high because of a low rpm you have to use a manual transmission so you can keep the rpms low.
I don't flip it the way you guys do. I do it kinda the opposite. I max my final, lower the top speed to min, 6th all the way right, bring the final down to a decent top speed. Usually my final ends up in the middle on the slider. You mean stretching the top two gears out a bit ? Not final drive right? On a flipped trans there's no more room to stretch final drive.
Regardless of the setup on this car, the most you can hope for is 10.2. Its snappy from the launch but lacks real power to keep accelerating. If you want to play with classic racecars, try the trio of '67s. They are all under 10 sec at Indy.

Yup its never failed mereally slash? i always do it so my final gear is the lowest possible.
That's exactly how I flipped in my tunnel days, full flip and adjust final for desired top speed, for Indy though I do lowest possible final.
