Need Hosting Recommendations

I'd like some hosting recommendations from anyone who's had good experiences with certain hosters.

I'm pretty particular in what I'm looking for, and I'm willing to pay moderately for it.

I'd like to spend between $100 and $150 per year, if possible, but am willing to go over that amount if necessary, for a good package.

I'm looking for 10GB+ of space, ~100GB+ of bandwidth, at least 10 mySQL databases (preferably more), and have preferences for use of cPanel and Fantastico for easy script management and such.

Anyone have any ideas?

The best deal I've run across thus far is from these guys:

Ummm.... go fish?

I don't know! I just use it to keep stuff! Stop asking complicated questions!

I've been with them for over 2 1/2 years now, and they've been excellent. My wife also hosts her site there (1+ year). Very rare on any down time (I think 4 times totaling 3 hours over 2 1/2 years).

Lessee....

No set up fee, it's $13/a month, 500meg, 10 gig bandwidth, 25 POP3, 5 ftp accounts, 3 MySQL dbases.

High Quality Dual Xeon Servers with RAID.

Servers constantly monitored to meet high performance standards

7 x 24 x 365 Online Support.

HSPc/Plesk7 stable Integrated customer control panel to manage Customer Billing, Domains and Services.

That's $166 a year for a plesk7 Shared web hosting plan.

[edited after reading GG's post]10 db's and only shelling out $10-$15 a month? I wish you luck.

I use 1&1. And my package has a MySQL DB... Two hours' downtime in three years.

[edit] Oh, sorry, you need 10 DBs...

Wow, thanks VT.

That first link seem like a fantabulous deal!

I've done a little google sniffing too, but it's so overwhelming when trying to narrow things. On top of that, I shy away from 'unlimited' anything. That throws a red flag up for me that the company may not be around long, if things suddenly appear to reach their finite end.

No one can guarantee anything is limitless.

I'd like you to keep in mind that cheap hosting which includes 10+ MySQL DBs is more than likely going to be very slow for you. It means that a lot of people would have more than likely signed up seeing the large numbers, started using MySQL, and now the servers are clogged up. I'd personally shy away from them.

Well, that's all good and well, but I'm already using 8 MySQL DBs, so I'll need at least that many, with plans within my site to expand, using at least two more, maybe three.

powweb's 5 DBs just aren't going to cut it.

My current service is by no means slow, but they also don't offer the type of bandwidth I'm aiming for.

Can you explain to me why the service would be slower with more DBs offered? You mean they'll have more customers and therefore more traffic? I don't understand.

Bottom line is that if I didn't need the DBs, I wouldn't ask for 'em. ;)

I'm not saying there is a problem with getting that mnay DBs, what I am saying is that more than likely getting that many DBs off of a value host tells me that there are a lot of other people looking for that many DBs cheap.. Which tells me their MySQL DBs are probably heavily loaded, which would make loading objects slow.

Those are all hosted on one powweb account.

I get it now. Thank you for clarifying.

I know some hosts will allow you to add on DBs. In your opinion, would that be the better option to go for, since they don't automatically come with the package and are therefore less likely to be used and abused?

And thanks for the help.

I'm at about 5Gs per month in bandwidth, and about 600MB of space, but I'm about to start hosting video clips, so I'm preparing for things to get ugly in high useage months.

Mm.

I once had a free account on their free server, which was pretty good until it got hacked. I would recommend powweb over these guys, but they are cheaper, so.
