Ok been doin more testing and I've tried the BMW 135i within the regs... best time 1:08:809 ... car feels better than the skyline

Y U NO DO TEST EARLIER?

Hmm…since I don't want to waste the settings, might I ask if there's room for me to join in? I'll be using the Skyline if there is room.

I just looked at the regs myself and my advice would be to stay away from the FF's, they'll likely have tire wear issues before the FR's. Of the FR's it'd be a toss up between the Premium RX-8 even with the reduced HP and the original car you chose, the Skyline. I think the Skyline is a good choice. Just noticed you tested the BMW, that might be a good choice too. Too bad you didn't drive several of the cars before I did the tuning:indiff:

Next time someone asks for help on a series car, we should make our first response, "Did you test every car available beforehand?"

Also, and I know this is just preferences, but why not do the whole "tranny trick" like…er…I did? Anyway, no big deal, it works for you, it'll work.

Lol my bad guys ... I may not be as good a driver as you guys but at least I'm trying ... lol
I'm sure there might be space Onboy, just register on the OP of the series ... I'm stubborn when it comes to Nissans that's why I never tested anything else ...
Guilty as charged ... lol

Probably a smart idea about asking if someone has tested different cars, but I tend to rush into these things..:sly:

I have my own ideas on how to tune the transmission and don't necessarily think the tranny trick is the way to go for fine tuning. As a starting point yes, it's great. Ultimately though, once you are in a certain range, I don't think tranny tuning makes much difference, on most cars that follow the standard "hp peaks around the redline" type of power curve. I didn't really put a lot of effort into transmission tuning here, just a visual thing, my goal was to put down competitive times based on what I read here and to see how long I could go on a set of tires. Given now that it's only 15 laps and you have to use two compounds, I'd probably loosen it up a bit to get some more speed because I only need to get 12 or 13 laps out of the tires not 16. But looking at the car list, which I didn't realize was so extensive, this Skyline would not be on my top ten list:idea: Civic Type R, FTO GP-R, MRS, RX-8, S2000...those would be the cars I'd be testing.

One other thing too, I did read the rules and the regs regarding curbs are different than anywhere else I raced. You have to keep at least 50% of the car over the tarmac as opposed to the usual "two wheels on track and the curb is track" rules, which makes a difference, to me anyway, heading into the tunnel.

Get the F/C 'box, and use the simplest gearbox tuning method known to man. Well, to me, anyway.

- Top Speed setting -> All the way left
- Final Gear setting -> All the way left
- 6th Gear/Top gear -> All the way right
- Try to make all the rest look linear to 6th.

Eh, I've not got a usable version of this car, so I'm persevering with a R32 Type S '91, quite a few differences, but the chassis should be similar enough to get an idea as to how it drives for you.

Thanks for the Tranny Tip Onboy. That's been my new toy this weekend.
I can finally tune gearboxes ... :D

No problem, glad to help. This method normally gives you a fairly good set of ratios to play with, though with certain cars it might require a lower or higher final gear for you to get desired results.
