i think Famine will have to help me on this one, whats the fastest production car at this point in time, i mean proven the fastest.

Lamborghini Murceialgo?
Koenigsegg CC? 227mph proved?
Ferrari Enzo? 217mph proved?
Lamborghini Diablo GT? still in production?
Zonda C12S 7.3? 220mph proved?

the veyron isnt in production and it hasnt been taken to 250mph yet, it gets unstable at around 220+, they are thinking of totally reworking the body and therefore its got a long wait.

so they just added a huge spoiler? its does was its called on the bugatti, it spoils it, this was, was! one of the best looking cars ever, before the spoiler.

I'd be lying if I said I knew...

But it is probably the Koenigsegg or the Zonda 7.3 - I'm not sure either has been fully independantly tested, and I'm not 100% sure the Koenigsegg is in full production either.

I say:
:yuck:

McLaren is 240, but others are cathcing up and i think some already have as a Koenigsegg was clocked at 242 MPH in the Gumball 3000. Took 2 Police Helicopters and a Plane to clock it ...

The Mclaren was the fastest production car, it is still the fastest ever recorded, thats why its still in the Guinness Book of World Records but it is no longer in production. The fastest car at current i think is the Murciealago or Diablo GT, it could be the Zonda or Koenigsegg or Enzo but topseeds arent proven i dont think. veyron isnt being produced yet so its not that either.

Does anyone know about the Koenigsegg CC entry in to the gumball 3000, the guy was supposingly clocked @ 247mph!?! Theres something about 2 choppers and half the police force trying to catch him?

Ah - I hate supercars. Sorry, then - can't help you. Famine's made a comment, and he's very rarely wrong, plus his statement seems logical so I side with him.

You didnt read my post above did you? :p...

sorry palm looks like i missed it, wer did u get your info from, can u remember? Isnt there sposed 2 be a video of it? Back to the subject, wot about the Enzo & Zonda 7.3, surely they mustve confirmed there topseeds by now thinking of the amount of different mags and shows that must have tested these cars.

Bugatti: "406 km/h (252 mph) as claimed and guaranteed by its makers" From msn. Guaranteed... they've gotta be pretty certain with themselves to be claiming something like that :odd:

Well the Enzo out accellerated the Mclaren F1 by .01 seconds as tested by Road and Track; they used the same equipment they used to test the Mclaren to test the Enzo...

like i've said in the past, its not about what car is the fastest but what exactly defines a production car. in my opinion a production car shouldn't have a limited range. if a manufacturer says 'we will only make 100 of these cars' then its not a production car to me. the ferrari f40 is a full production car according to that definition, whereas a mac f1 isn't.

surely that system makes sense?

Well, according to that definition the McLaren F1 IS a full production car - McLaren aimed to make 300 initially, but ended up only making 100 over 4 years.

Cars like that are production. Cars like the monsters from Lingenfelter however are not. If a car is only produced for someone who wants one (like you order it and they make it) I think that wouldnt be production. Even if production is limited, (like 2000 cars) it should still be production, since it was made for whoever gets to them first, not for a person individually. Thats my 2 cents...

really? i was under the impression they only wanted to make 75. and they did. but there was such high demand that they made a few more. the gtr or something which had 20 models and the LM which had 5 models. all of which were sold out. but they never made any more. hence 100...

So no one really knows what the fasest production car on the planet is at the moment?

Someone has to find out about the ENZO & ZONDAS 7.3.

Im finding it hard to get proven stats. Just loads of jibberish about estimates and projected topspeeds.

The fastest one that is in productin now is the Edonis with 365 kph / 226.8 mph. And that is independently confirmed, not factory numbers.

Ive read about that car before, B-Engineering? Edonis i didnt know it was that fast or even in production. Good find GTJugend, are you definetely sure its the fastest at the moment? where did you get your info from.

jesus, that car is beautiful. it also looks like it has dunlop sport 9000's on the wheels ;) love those tyres, great in the wet...

O and i forgot to mention, theres a post in the rumour & speculation covering this already, but this car is to be featured in GT4 when it releases!:trouble:

I read the article in autoweek about this car. Apparently, there is only one in existence, and it was built in the maker's garage. It has a volvo engine in it currently, but they are reptedly "negotiating" putting a highly modified engine from the Audi RS6 in the productioin version. Whether the Orca actually goes into production remains to be seen, as the creator is still looking for investors. Currently, with the Volvo engine, it can "only" go 205 mph.
