Ok, i know someone is going to get on here and bash my car, but that's okay, as long as I get some helpful advice out of this.

I just got this car monday. I love it. I wan't to modify it, but don't want to be a "ricer". The first thing that has to go is the wheels and tires. I want black 17"s but haven't quite found any that i really really like and that are reasonable in price. so i thought i'd ask the GTP world what they could come up with. And i know some ofyou can do really cool picture editing. PLEASE feel free to edit this pic. I should get a better one with not all the shadows on car. but this what i got.

^ what hanker said. I'd think if you powder coat them like a dark anthracite gray, that would be a cheap way to go, and it would look pretty cool IMO

Easy guys, he's posted it here, as he didn't deem it quite automotive (He was asking for a sale :odd: ).

If you'd all give him a bit of a break and suggest that it should have been in the automotive forum, we'd all be happier.

ANd 5LiterRiceEater, ease up a bit, no need to spout facts and try to back up something that we should have all let slide.

I'll do a minor bit of surgery on this thread, after I move it to the automotive forum.

After that everyone will be happy. ok, everybody should be happy now.

Please offer only constructive thoughts and advice. If we could all afford a 1969 barracuda w/ a hemi, we would. Others decide they do want to own a celica.

Most places charge between $50.00 - 85.00 per-wheel. If you have access to an air compressor and an electric oven, you can purchase an entry level do it yourself kit from Eastwood for $130.00.

well, 5LRE filled me in on the all the excitement. I created this thread at work right before i left. to take advantage of the highspeed connection. Apparantely some Uptight Arse just decided to flame me. Well all of that is over now, so thanks for the suggestion about powdercoating. I know the wheels on it now do look okay, but I want 17"s and they are 16"s. But i was planning on getting some TRD 1" drop springs also. so maybe i'll get those first and then see how it looks. If it looks good that way, then i'll just have the wheels powder coated black.

If anyone has a Celica or Celica GT-S (00'-03'), with the TRD muffler, i would like to know what it sounds like. I'm afraid any after market muffler will have my car sounding like a Honda Coffee can muffler.

P.S. i tried tire rack and they only had one wheel that came even close to what i wanted. they weren't even black, they were gunmetal. I saw some Nippon Racing Type C wheels on ebay that look good. but i would like to be able to see how they would look on my car first.

No luck, it'll be even worse.

What exactly is a reasonable price to you? Might want to check Rota wheels, they're usually pretty cheap.
