Need Your Assistance Techies.....

So I have a Logitech DFGT......

I bought some G27 pedals.......um...err....not pinned the same on the 9-pin connector.

The DFGT has only 7 pins utilized....the G27 pedals have 9 pins. When I connect them to the wheel, the power will not come on.

So I imagine things are obviously different because of the extra pedal (which will not be utilized). I have yet to take them apart and compare the wiring.

Your assistance is needed....has anyone taken this on? Before I start taking crap apart, I want to know if this will indeed work....Or should I just leave it alone and sell the new pedals? LOL

I am thinking (hoping) that my current pedals have a three wire system on them like the G27 pedals do. Like I said, I have not taken anything apart yet, but probably will later this evening. If that is the case, then a simple swap of the pedals is in order. I am going to reverse mount them anyway.

Any assistance, advice, admonishments are welcome.........Thanks in advance. :dunce:

That's what I'm thinking. I have seen how the G27 looks inside, but have not seen the inside of the pedal set for the DFGT. I am praying that it is the same three wire setup as well. That would be ultra keen.....but unfortunately, it never seems to be that easy.....

I will post some pics of my progress.

Ah yes, success thus far....

There are indeed three wires to each pedal on the DFGT pedals. So tomorrow I will disassemble the G27 pedals and then I can reverse mount them the way they should have been in the first place.

There seems to be a little knowledge around about this, the problem is that when you make the adapter the gas gets reversed apparently. Here are some links that might help you out a little getting this completed, one forum member successfully accomplished this and posted a how-to below.

Also, as a nice little mod for your DFGT, this company makes paddle shifters for $30. Seems to be a pretty good price and a nice upgrade to the DFGT. Considering its downfalls are the paddle shifters and the pedals (which you are planning to replace anyways)

So took apart everything today.....Instead of using the cable that came with the G27 pedals, I decided to use the cabling that works with my DFGT pedals. Compared the wiring on the pedals, switched everything over and connected it up.

At first, the accelerator worked, but the brake was reversed, meaning it was 'on' when it was not depressed. I reversed the red and black wires on the brake potentiometer, and viola!! It works like a champ.....

First pic is the DFGT.....nice cobwebs, eh?

This is the wire connections using the DFGT harness. Accelerator is on the left.

That's the first time I've seen the inside of the DFGT's pedals, quite a step up from the DFP's which had the pot(entiometer)s mounted directly to the pedal pivots! They're also tiny compared to those, and mine are plastic. Therefore I want some G25 pedals. Ebay it is.

Well the DFGTs are plastic as well. The G27 pedals are pretty solid IMO.

They look like metal in the top photo? In the DFP they're about 1cm square, made of plastic with tiny (like, 5mm, if I remember correctly) shafts. Basically they're plastic PCB mount pots, not panel mount style ones (with a metal base) like your photo. Thinking about it, I'm surprised they haven't already broken.

Yes, you are correct....the potentiometers are metal, yes....I thought you meant the pedals themselves. The G27 pedals are far batter than the DFGT pedals for sure.....

Here are a couple of pics of the new setup....works pretty well thus far. I may set the pedals back a couple of inches more, but all in all, I dig it.

All that I can offer is the above pic with the labeling.....I used the DFGT connector and wired it according to the picture. It worked....

I did not have to disassemble the 9-pin connector.

The accelerator is Red White and Black wires....

The brake is Black Green and Red wires.....that's all I know! LOL
