So all this talk today about possible Japan leaks for FH6 has got me thinking (don't worry everyone I sat down whilst thinking so I didn't hurt myself).

If we are going to Japan I hope Microsoft and Sega can get together and arrange some Sega franchise appearances in FH6. I would love that. To be fair Nintendo franchise appearances would be good too but that's never happening.

With Japan's rich video game history it would be a perfect opportunity to boost FH6's awareness and appeal to gamers, along with an excellent chance to celebrate video gaming imo.
FH5 has 50 million players. Who exactly is boosting who’s awareness here?

Anyway, I think the idea is super random and while I love everything Sega I think any form of crossover with Forza is extremely unlikely.

You mean like Sonic and Mario statues around and about?

Yep, there's absolutely no Sega related crossover that would work in FH6... cough...

...cough

Apparently some possible leak about FH6 to take a whole handful of salt has been made but I'd rather not post it to avoid causing a ruckus. For those who want to check, it's on YouTube.

It's also on the previous page:

I'll bet Sonic is the 'Silly Expansion' for FH6--or at least I bet it would have been if FH6 was due out this year. Sure Lego and Hot Wheels have universal appeal, but Sonic already has connections to motorsports through Ayrton Senna in the '90s and McLaren itself in the modern day, and a racing game out this year. If they don't see each other as competition, a crossover expansion where they adapt Green Hill to a small FH map wouldn't be out of the question.

More likely would be Fast and Furious making a return to full expansion duty because a) Tokyo Drift and b) Fast and Furious 11 likely coming out while FH6 is in the middle of its first year of content, but I think Sonic would have a good outside chance, especially if PG scans in at least one of the promo cars Sonic is on.

I don’t really understand what you mean?
You don’t know Sega Rally? Because that is essentially what @sirjim73 is pointing out. It’s a Sega property/franchise Sega could use as a crossover for FH6 if they were to partner up with MS. Thus, it’s NOT so random because FH features dirt racing, which is what Sega Rally is famous for. :sly:

If FH is indeed taking place in Japan, it would make for such a cool crossover between Sega and Forza. Why not?

Oh that? Yeah. I know Sega rally well. I still think the Idea that MS would partner with Sega is super random. Sorry.

Sega and Sega Rally are a bit too small these days. Don't see any cross-promotional appeal in such a partnership for Forza hence I think it's unlikely.

It could be random mate I was just spit balling an idea. Sega aren't what I call a small company bud, and if they are then surely that would justify any potential partnership to promote Sega through FH6. Just think of the potential it could have to help raise MS/Xbox brand in Japan as well, a market that Xbox has found notoriously hard to crack.

Yeah, you do have a point about Sega Rally being too small nowadays (especially after Revo). Though I still think it would've been a cool crossover, haha!

Sega Rally Revo sold <50k copies in the us, Sega Rally Arcade (3) has no sales data and has long been delisted.

By comparison FH5 has 50.000.000 players.

Doesn’t exactly sound huge to me bud.

As well as Sega Rally Sega did:

Daytona USA
Outrun
Crazy Taxi
Sega Touring Car Championship
Virtua Racing

The above are just a quick list from the top of my head, I'm sure there's more.

Plus who wouldn't love to race around Sonics Green Hill zone and others in cars?

Yakuza collab? would like to have Kiryu Kazuma suit or player model in fh6
This 100%. The possibilities are huge for both parties. Here's hoping either a MS or Sega executive reads this and agrees 🤣🤣🤣🤞🤞🤞

There was a word used on gameranx...."Fortnitification"

IMO Japanese gamers are already and irremediably prejudiced against anything Xbox. But an almost simultaneous release in all platforms could bring serious numbers. After all, FH5 reached about 10 million gamers in 1-2 weeks of release and that was only on Xbox/PC/Game Pass.

Oh God no I'm not suggesting FH goes down the route of Fortnite. Just that as a little bit of fun or DLC we could see some nice tie ins.

Right. I mean, realistically speaking, too, Forza x Sonic wouldn't be terribly likely, since Sonic's only connection to motorsport is through McLaren and to a lesser extent rallying. Meanwhile, something like The Fast and Furious would already have those ins with Forza through Paramount. and already had a Japanese-set work in the form of Tokyo Drift. Some sort of touge area that is conveinently not in the base game map would be the perfect setting for that kind of expansion.

You guys know that Horizon is on PlayStation, right?
I'm aware. My point is that I think there is no collaboration that will help drive more sales among Japanese players specifically (a perfect localization should be a must, anyways) and if the game has good sales in Japan, they will happen through PlayStation.

We sort of had Crazy Taxi already in FH4 with that London taxi story
