Hey guys,

I know I'm late about this but I'm thinking about getting the PS2 network adapter. Now, I have some questions about it before buying it. Is it complicated to set up ??? My connection acts like I have a router but I dont have any, is it going to affect the connection with the PS2 ??? I'm on a 3mbits ADSL connection, is it going to be smooth or a little rushy ???

Thanks for answering guys :)

Well I don't have router too, all I did was take the ethernet cord that connected from my computer to my modem and connected it to the back of the network adaptor and thats basically all you gotta do besides putting in the set up disc.

If you want both the PC and the PS2 online at the same time, then you need a router.

Another reason why I want one. Well I want a wireless router so I can have my PS2, Computer and PSP online at the same time.

i'm gonna get one as soon as i have money. I decided to use my money for pc parts cause my pc is a garbage can actually. Parts are supposed to be here by the end of the week.

Games I wish to play online, NFSU2, NHL 06 and Socom II (thats the only one I got online for the moment).

You're gonna need an extra couple of hands too. :P

NFSU2, isn't big online anymore around a 100 people a day and all of them glitch and not race. NHL 06 sounds fun, think I'll try it out. Socom II, has about a 1000 people a day on and with much less people there's much less lag. WHen you can try Socom 3, I find it a hell of a lot better.

I saw Socom III and I think its not the same thing as the second anymore. Socom II was stealth attack missions, and when I see Socom III with tanks and boats, nothing to hide, no silencers, its not stealth anymore. I rather be playing Socom II and Splinter Cell than Socom III. But it does looks great anyway...

Whoa, thats where you're totally wrong socom 3 offers stealth very well. Don't mind the tanks and vehicles you will need them for the size of the maps. Plus when it comes to stealth you can unlock ghillie suites, which are suits that are covered in leaves or branches to make you part of the scenery. How do you know there are no silencers? Every gun is cusomizable. You choose the gun, choose from a variety of scopes, a variety of silencers, even M203's and GL36 frags are available for almost every gun. I've been playing since Socom 1 and I think the latest installment is the best. My only con is that, I miss Crossroads badly!

you have problems on a cable connection ??? Maaan, that must be huge, I never ever had problems when I was on cable, until I swap to ADSL. Do you use any router or wireless **** ??? Its always the big stupid problem in these situations.

I can't get mine set up correctly, even ND4SPD's way.

I use a 3MB Cable connection.

Oh well.
Thats a little odd, care to explain what is hooked up to what? Maybe I can help you there. Everyone I know who has the adaptor has it set up basically the same way.

Bah the best reason to purchase a network adapter isn't to use it for online gaming. It's to attatch a nice big HDD so you can load all your games on it nice and fast. Also then you won't have the problem of the dvd drive failing because it won't get used as much.

Oh yeah and you can load imported games onto the hdd if you plug the hdd into your pc.

I am no hacker guy. I dont hack/crack/copy games. I buy everything originally and I'm proud to do it :)

I respect your opinion and your choices anyway :)

Thanks for accusing me of piracy as well. Even though all the games I run off the HDD I actually own.

Sorry man I didnt wanted to accuse you. I just wanted to say its stupid that people use piracy to entertain themselves. I didnt wanted to accuse you, but even if you were doing it, I respect your choices :)

I don't see why you needed to bring the issue up in the first place. There are quite a few people who use the ps2 with hdd here who would have said the same thing as me.

Nevermind.

I just wanted to pose my opinion about it :nervous:
