If you couldn't get less than a hundred dollars for this game, you may very well be the worst shopper in the history of shopping.

On topic, online isn't horrid, you just have to be patient sometimes. I've never gone more than 30 minutes without getting into a room, during the rare event when I decide to play online.

It works like a charm, like every other day.

But every other (other) day, I can't even get my community tab to load. It really ruins the experience. Every other day.

Do you ever clear your system's cache in the options? I don't play online most of the time, and I assume you do all the time. It seems to be that's the reason for the Cache slowing your offline and online. I only think this because of all the times it happens to other people.

Is it it only the community tab?

Try cleaning your disc and get a blue-ray cleaner and try that. i was having the same sort of problem. Get the brushless blue-ray cleaner made by Memorex. The disc has two holes in it and cleans the lens by creating a vaccuum effect. Works like a charm.

It's not a hardware issue. It's the extremely slow GT5 online servers that, half the time, take minutes to load up my friends' profiles.

Happens to me too. Annoying when you have to restart the game BECAUSE EVEN THE LOADING SCREEN FOR THE INTRO TAKES TO LONG

For reasons unknown to us, PD implemented some non-essential online bits (e.g. the news ticker on the main screen, the 'new things in your inbox' notifier, etc.) in a blocking way in the offline part. So whenever PSN is screwed, PD's servers are screwed (as they were when everyone was collecting their X2010 and running the online seasonal), your ISP is screwed or your local connection is screwed, it just halts and all you can do is wait (or sign out of PSN, which is of course not helpful if it's online you want to play). Should be easy to fix by implementing a response timeout and/or a cancel button. All kindergarten network programming BTW, so why PD did this in this way is completely beyond me. ;)

Original rrp in aus was $119.95.

It could be a range of different things, like download speed, network reception, or the servers are in a busy time.

I had this but it was my internet i went wired and changed provider and my game loaded up alot faster and community always loads :)

Same here. 97 friends, it takes an eternity to load. Even slower is waiting for it to refresh the list when setting up a remote race via the PS3. Takes longer to set it up than it does to race it!

I never have problems with the server... It always connects easily and quick... The only problem I've ever is black screens and that's usually someone in the room out on the track or a bad host
