Network...

My house has a wireless Router which my PC uses while the sister's laptop is connected straight to the cable modem or the router. Earlier this evening, I tried to go online and it wouldn't let me. I fiddled with the router and cable modem, turning them on and off, took out the wireless card in my PC, blew off the dust that was on and in the PCI slot and port. Still nothing. Getting really pissed off. I played aroundd with everything I could think of. What the hell is wrong people?? *Note* I'm on the laptop, not my PC.

Which is it?

Can you see the wireless network?

What happens when you try to connect?

Is it encrypted?

We need more info.

Is this a new setup or have you had it working in the past? Most cable modems won't support the connection of a PC AND a Router at the same time. Typically you have have the cable modem connected to a router and all other nodes connected to the router.

My sister's laptop is connected to the router which goes to the modem. I have a sign that says "Area Network Established" but when I go on AIM, MSN, or Internet Explorer, it doesn't do anything. It just say Connection not found.
