Well, my obsession with NWN has hit again with the newest (and possibly last official) expansion pack: Hordes of the Underdark. It seems pretty long so far, and definitely has improvements over the last 2. It adds more prestige classes (useful ones.), and allows for levels up to 40. With the added tilesets, addition of another henchmen (2 now) and improved scripting (the easy to create mod feature is pretty amazing.) it's easy to recommend.
It also pokes fun at the shortcomings of the first two games (in a lighthearted way.) On top of that it brings back some old favorites characters in some surprise cameos (or as henchmen.)
The storyline is also a great improvement over SoU expansion if not just for the sole moment you lead a large army into battle while trying to defend a fortress.

I wish I had the money to get the expansions but I dont so the original NWN will have to last me. I just recently started playing NWN last week and I cant get enough. I've had the game for quite awhile now and only now have I really gotten into it. I'm glad I did. Its awesome. Still in Chap 1 though.

if i had the money, i'd buy NWN...i had a burn of it and I feel it's worth paying for.

I think you guys should try Baldur's Gate II if you think NWN is good. BG2 is undoubtedly the greatest RPG to hit pc...EVER. BG1 is also daaamn good and both are selling for under $20. GO BUY NOW :p

Neverwinter Nights is worth it even without the expansions because of all the really excellent mods out there.
I also played both BG's with the Expansions, as well as Icewind Dale. In all honesty, Planescape: Torment wins the prize as the best PC RPG, beating everything else by a large margin.
