Whilst I was at work experiance about 2 weeks ago ( I can't say where as I signed a secrecy conotract), but they were testing a new engine for a new Aston Martin. Something way down in teh pipe works, (and no not the DB9 something else). They couldn't tell me much as it was a secret contract, apart from what I gather there's going to be a new version (in a round about way) of teh V8 Vantage. Ok that was very vague, but thats all they could say. I saw the engine being tested and it was massive. A 6 litre V8 which looks like it should be put in a truck. It's still also in very early development so the car may not have a 6 litre V8. I also saw the power outputs for it (which is what they were testing on it) and they were certainly impressive. I'm afraid that I cannot say. Anyway I know it's not much but just a teaser.
Also in the next engine testing bay along they were testing the Foggity Petronas Superbike engine. Man that thing screamed.
Also I spent the majority of the week I was there working on a vehicle called the "Ibex". Well look up Foers Ibex, that's the original vehicle which is now made by this company I worked with. I helped design the new dash for it as well :).
Also this company recently worked on the PK racing GT3 Porsche, but I didn't see it :(.

The next Aston is the AMV8 Vantage, which might be re-named the DB8. It's not sectret though.

Well either they were talking about something else, or I just left it too late to announce. When did they announce the DB8 then?

It's just the bloke who showed me it at the tme said it was top secret and that it wasn't going to be announced for some time :dunce: :dopey: . Anyway it was still kool to see them find out the torque and horsepower of the engine :D.

The AMV8 (DB8) has been known about for quite some time now, much longet than a few weks, so if you've heare that then there might be another V8 Aston in the works.

Yeah, but an AMV8 car with a SIX LITRE V8?
Thats huge! My Camaro has a 5.7, but its a way low-tech thingamabob. Imagine 6 litres of OHC Aston Martin goodness, thats got to be at least 450hp with equivalent torque. Sounds like AM is planning a hi-po version of its 911 fighter.

The old Aston Martin V8 Vantage had a Twin Supercharged 5.3L V8 with up to 600hp available. You could however have your Aston Martin V8 Virage which also had the 5.3L V8, sent back to Works Service for modification into a 500hp 6.3L V8.

The new "AMV8 Vantage/DB8" has a 5.3L V8 borrowed from Jaguar but highly modified to make it more unique, and pushing out 350 - 400hp.

The only thing that this 6.0L V8 could be for is a "DB8 Vantage", which wont be happening for a few years now.

Well, as I said, they might not use the engine, as they have been trying many to get an idea of what they want and might use. The DB8 sounds like the best bet.
Although the engine they wree testing was pumping out figures quite a bit larger than 350-400 bhp ;).

Well if they make a DB8 Vantage that will have more than the standard DB8.
