The new Aston Martin V8 Vantage looks amazing. The best looking Aston I think. The spec list:
4.3-litre V8 (Jaguars 4.2 V8) developing 380bhp
175mph top speed (claimed)
0-60mph around 5 secs
weighs around 1500kg (170kg less than DB9)
Price around £70,000

The car will rival the Porsche 911 and 3000 of them will probably be built a year.
There will probably be a 'S' version in the future.
My opinion is that the Vantage won't beat the 911 for handling but will beat in in many other areas (looks, build quality).
For more info, the latest Evo (77) magazine has an 14 page article on it.

Not the best looking, damn nice but not the best IMO.

You know the guy thats developing the handling of the new Aston used to do the asme for Porsche so I wouldn't be suprised if the handling is right up there, the DB9's is great.

And deservedly so, did yuo see the bit where they had this the DB9 and the Vanquish and Jerremy said the worlds best three cars, followed by and they're all British just to please the Americans  ;).

I didn't. Damn.
Going to bed now. Lots of schoolwork to do tommorow. :irked:

I would class the Aston Martin DB9 as the most sexy Aston Martin of all time with the Aston Martin DB7 in 2nd.

i like the look of the one in gt3 better. nothing beats the old school.

Am I the only person that thinks it looks like a very angry BMW 6 series? Not that it's a bad thing because this car looks daaamn good

Here's another pic I want you to see. SO SEXY!!!

I can tell the difference quite easilly.
The Vanquish has a squatter stance, bigger head lights and the rear wheelarch protrudes out the car quite sudenly at the top.

This is all smaller, narrower lights, smooth but with less going on, also the fog lights are in the same unit as the head lights.

The DB9 is the most identifiable on the market now with it's longer headlights that swoop back, it's also the least agressive looking but IMO the best looking. The DB9 is automotive nirvana.

A pretty large behind, kind of like the old Puma, actually... but I'm really enjoying the look of this car. Word is that it outpaces a 911 around the 'Ring, so I think Aston's being very serious.

The funny thing is that one of the car's more immediate rivals will be the next XK.

by the way....i think those tail lights are disgusting.

maybe they'd be better if they we illuminated.

I don't like Astons designs of late:tdown:

Very handsome car, and it's good Aston Martin is bringing back the V8's. Now let's just hope they're abandoning the ridiculously non-functional sequential gearboxes and giving us a proper five or six speed gearbox.

Fantastic looking cars  shame they spend more time in the dealers garage than their owners! 👎

Buy a continental GT, amazing car for money

Technically, the V8 isn't Aston Martin's. It's a Jaguar 4.2-litre unit with an extra 100cc's added.

I think they are giving us a 6-speed manual box. I don't know weather the sequential box is optional.

They cut the power quite a bit on it...Why didn't they just use another twin supercharged beast oh well...They deffinatley improved the looks....but it looks just like a maser now......

1. Aston Martin are making the best looking cars at the moment imo
2. Aston Martin DB9 isn't on the cool wall, it's in the 'sub-zero' little fridge lol

Oh wonderful! Another Aston-Martin that looks exactly like the DB9... that looks exactly like the Vanquish.... that will probably look exactly like the next Aston. Not that its a bad looking design by any means, but I think they could make all the Astons look a little more unique.

The rearend of it definetly takes design cues from the DB9. Beautiful car though. 👍

Although it is called a V8 Vantage it is not the successor to the last one. That was the range topping Aston model whereas this one is the entry model. Still going to be 80 grand though....
