New Cannonball Run Movie: 32 Hours 7 Minutes

There is a new documentary comming out about the infamous Bill "Cannonball" Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Race called 32 Hours 7 Minutes. Although I am not completely sure if the races creator (Brock Yates, a Car and Driver Edditor) is involved, but the trailer makes this movie look absolutely kick-ass...

If anyone read the Cannonball! book that was a compelation of stories written by the drivers, you can immagine how awesome this movie is going to be. They are going to talk about what cars they drove and how they modified them, how they outran the cops, and other small tidbits along the way.

I cant wait for the movie to come out...
 
There are already a few Cannonball DVD's out, as well as Gumball and Player's Run videos.
 
I've got Mischief3000, great little movie. Some really funny sections of automotive tomfoolery. It's a little old, from one of the earlier Gumball3000 races, but it's still a good watch.
 
I have all the Mischief movies (5 of them + 2 truck ones + 2 called Hyper street racing)...and I love them all. I've met Dustin and Dado as well, pretty cool guys. But Mischief 6 will be featuring a rally/run from 2005.

And HEY - Cannonball Run with Burt was an instant classic !...
 
I crossing my fingers that they have the guts to put it out in theatres with a fairly wide relase. I'm eager to see the old race footage. Reading the book was great and all, but your imagination is somewhat limited if you dont know what kind of cars they are talking about.

The problem is... The current batch of such films, are horrible adolescent trash... It doesn't surprise me, you're into them :dunce: ... Whereas this looks to actually have some historical merit... Not just people acting like boobs because they're on camera...

Then again, this could be just as bad, just in another way.... We'll just have to wait and see...

What a bastard like comment from a mod. I don't apperciate attacks like that one people who I consider to be friends with. Dustin and Dado are great guys and make excellent movies which sell rather well.

You probbaly met em once or twice and you call them friends.Thats like me saying me and thierry henry got something going on because we made eye contact. Chances are if you went up to them tomorrow they wouldnt know your name.

You take any criticism on anything you like too personal yet you seem ok with dishing it out yourself.

First off... Watch your language... This is not the first time I have seen you swear on this forum... This is a warning...

Secondly, there was nothing wrong with my statement... This is a forum where opinions are put forth.... That is the basic reason why forums exist... How you handle such comments shows your level of maturity... There are many people in the world, and probably the majority of this forum, that have trouble stomaching such purile adolescent garbage... If you enjoy it, fine.... It doesn't surprise me.... Your personality tells me this would be what you would be into... That's fine... Not to say you are not intelligent, just to say your personality lends itself more to this kind of thing, whereas mine does not... I am voicing my opinion against such shows because I feel they are giving a bad name to classic events such as the Cannonball... The Gumball3000, and other such events are just trying to capitalize on the popularity of said event... I have seen 3 of these Mischief films, and I must say, it was hard to watch... Seeing idiots perform stupid stunts and act like childish morons doesn't make for a good watch, IMO... I'm sure I'm not the only one... Then again, I know there are a lot of people that enjoy watching people act like fools... I mean, look at the popularity of the Jacka$$ series... If you like that kind of thing more power to ya, but don't act like it's more than that, or try to justify it because they "sell rather well"...

This new Cannonball documentary looks to give the rest of us something interesting to watch, since we can't enjoy the Mischief series or others like it...

Also you have no idea what my personality is so I really wouldn't say you do, you've read my stuff a few times on this forum. That's hardly saying you know me or what I'm like. You can say some of my comments are immature because that is what you've observed, but to say I'm adolescent trash is pretty rediculous...I'm not exactly an adolescent anymore. I'm 20, a 4.0 student, had a job a GM for a year and a half, and have a pretty well established life. I'm no teenager who thinks he can rule the world.

Should be a cool movie.

I do agree most of the Cannonball videos you see now aren't that great and are very low budget just trying to film them.

I've got 1 Cannonball movie which is ok....


I'll look forward to this. Hopefully, we'll be 110% focused on the cars and not the stunts or drivers.
 
I didn't see anything particularly childish with Mischief3000 (their second release?). Could you point out any specific events to refresh my memory (really, I haven't seen it in at least a year)?

Well it's pretty much a bunch of millioniares driving across the country really fast. Pretty much like this Cannonball movie, but based in recent times and more of a personal perspective. I think their movies are very well done and show what street racers are like...right or wrong, this is what it shows.

Some may not approve, which is fine but it is by no means a trash film. I recommend checking out all the Mischief DVD's because they all provide entertainment. Also it does show you the consequences to racing...jail time (Dado was arrested on the Players Run), car accidents, etc.

Actually, I didn't do anything of the kind... I called the films adolescent trash, which is my right to express... I also stated it has no bearing on my opinion of your intelligence... Only that you enjoy a different type of entertainment... This was also explained... I'm sure plenty of my favorite films would be distasteful to you, and it's your right to state your opinion of them.... Just lighten up... Not everything is an attack on your character...

Is this film slated for release in theaters, or on TV, or what?... Looks like it could be the Dogtown and Z Boys of car documentaries...

Fingers crossed they are really makeing this and gonna release it. It shouldnt matter to much where it comes out, im sure Mr Internet can help in the aid of me finding it ;)
