Well, I haven't been posting much on GTP lately, but I've recently had a 1982 BMW Alpina C1 2.3 thrust upon me. It's in fairly good condition, just needs a new hood, trunk and front valence. Does anyone here know of a good parts supplier where I can get BMW E21 body panels? My searches with google have turned up very little.

By the way, the car looks like this.

what country are you in?

i can give you plenty of ideas, but if youre in britain it doesnt help you to hav parts shipped from california does it?

I know there's a BMW auto/colllision and body restoration shop in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I know the guy there VERY well so I could probably get you a deal, if you're within a day's driving distance.

M5Power:
Nope, just plain BMW Graphite Metallic.

I've been looking on E-Bay for parts, butb there's not many body panels avaliable. I've got a body shop guy coming out in a couple of days to see if the hood/trunk/valence are repairable. The car was free, and I'm located in the southwest U.S. I think that the performance stats on that page are wrong, because I have an official spec sheet from Alpina that quotes the horsepower as 170 and 0-60 in about 7.2 seconds.

Thanks for all your help.

Just found out I can buy Yokohama A048s on tirerack.com for my car. I gotta get it down to the body shop!

Anybody have any idea on how "streetable" these tires would be?

I was at the Nordschleife some 2 months ago in a E34 M5, but we only put A048s on there, before the race, in the night before.....Rode 50 km in them, they wear down REALLY quickly in my opinion (I rekon......no more tthan....5-10.000 km?) But grip is insane ;):D

EDIT: I think they were....245 and 275...or something like that.....
