If its like the steath car downloads, whenever your car starts losing power, delete them and redownload from psn store. Shiny new cars!

I really haven't bought DLC before, so I'm a noob as to the technical details (I know that is what you do with full downloaded games, so it makes sense). If that's the case, what's stopping a person from downloading multiple copies of a DLC car/gear/paint/etc... and keeping them all (Or is that one of the reasons for buying it)?

I'm in two minds about this DLC. I really fancy the extra cars and the extra tracks, but it just doesn't seem to add anything to the game i.e. There are no new events that use these cars or tracks, so what's the point in having them.

Unless they are for a future seasonal...?

I'm sure you can use them in the exicting A-spec and seasonal races.

If you mean there are no dedicated races for them, your right (for now)

Excluding the track.....all the new things (including the new nascars and the GT-R) are just a work-around cause they "had" asap to release new things/DLC IMO.
-All the cars, 11xNascars, X2011 and the karts is the same cars with new stickers and some minor tweaks.
-The RM's IMO were supposed to be in-game in first place but for some reasons (run out of time? they wanted to squeeze more money? they held them back just in case? ...you name it) is also the same story.

but....even though that i have the worst opinion about this DLC, this is GT and i cant help my self and not buy it :S

To all of you who aren't disappointed and are willing to pay 8$ for this car pack, you are what's wrong with this industry. How can we expect respect and be presented with worthy choices when you fools are willingly throwing your money away at this crap? Don't you have any standards? Are your expectations that low? When did you said to yourself: "F it, I'm giving up!". Doesn't matter who you are, when you buy DLC that is not worth it, DLC suck for everyone, or is too pricey. If people pay 8$ for slight variants of 15 cars already in the game, don't expect the next DLC to be 15 completely new cars for 8$ or 10$, prepare yourself to pay 10$ for 5 cars that are being model for GT6 either way. So I want to personally thank (I'd rather punch) each and everyone of you who will pay 8$ for this car pack, thank you.

Great post. Couldn't put it any better =) 👍

There are 2 broadly dissenting views - one that argues that the DLC is not worth it, and that we should not supply the demand for poor DLC, and another camp that believes in supporting the producers' efforts (at their own unreasonable expense) regardless of the quality of the product. We all have different thresholds and tolerances, and I'm only human. Having said that, even when I try to put on my most non-partisan hat, I simply cannot see why we should be 'supporting' poor DLC. Producers already have some sort of monopoly power, especially to fans of the series; we should not further contribute to that monopoly power.

If we as gamers can't be rational in our buying choices, we're just setting up ourselves for even worse.

I have almost the same opinion. The track that 90% the players wanted and these cars, really easy and fast to make. I don't believe the rm were already done but i believe that it was a last minute fast job.

So, my explanation to this is...they need fast money to continue to work on the real new stuff, and something to keep players interested, also. This move works for both, 2 in 1.

I'm goign to buy just the tracks, for now.

it is the same way other games work.
In a Call of Duty map pack you get maps that are in the game anyway.
why don't you have every terrain you come across in single player available in multiplayer?...

they are keeping some to release later in a map pack.
And apparently that is how this industry works nowadays.

No-one is making you buy the DLC and no one is making you buy the game.

I bought numerous games for my SEGA mega drive, PS1 and PS2 back in the days that I thought were going to be great but turnde out to be a disapointment.
And back then there were no updates or DLC.

But that is beside this.
bottum line is, if you don't think the DLC is worth it, just don't buy it.
I think it is worth it and I will buy it...

I think I'm just about the only one on GT Planet who loves the Prius. When I get it I'll troll online with it.

Trolling it online would own. Especially if you start winning with it lol. I actually am looking forward to using it as well. I imagine it could be quite formidable in the right car class.👍

Its not even that Im interested in any of these cars, but Ill buy them simply to have them. GT has fueled my need to collect cars, and I am left with a serious empty pit if there is a car I cant have. Even now, I have the chromeline cars and the stealth Mclaren, but I always have this tugging pit in my gut everytime I see someone with a stealth 787 or stealth AMG...cars I cant get. Had these cars been in the game to buy, I may have passed on them, but if I dont by them, I cant have them, so I sure will.
I have a problem, and only buying these cars or a 12 step program will save me.

Isn't this just old cars with a paint job?

You can more or less tune the cars up to RM spec by buying modifications cant you?

Obviously I don't know how these "new" cars will be to drive, but past experience with the RM cars indicates to me that they won't be very different from a tuned non-RM car.

tecknical
fixed for you too.

I'm a PD fan and I'd like...you know, the 2012 GT-R. How about the Pagani Huayra? How about the F10 BMW M5? Or the E30 M3? What about the Ferrari F50 or the FF? Why not a Pontiac G8 GXP? Where's the Audi RS4? Or the S5? Or the RS5? Why not add the Mercedes E63 AMG?

see where I'm getting with this? If I were OBSESSED with Japanese cars GT5 would be heaven. I'm sorry but I like other cars too

EA has the rights to the Pagani Huayra FYI.

I'm thinking Kaz wanted to release Spec 2.0 with all the cars and so on free of charge but Sony decided on selling it instead. At least that's how I view it (could probably be wrong who knows).

I read somewere that he wanted to give everybody a GT5 copy with a free PS3 and a dinner table... :dopey:

I highly doubt that. PD is working overtime on GT5 as we speak (Spec II & and a third on its way perhaps). This poor DLC is surely just a way to fund all the work and process.

Posts like these have plagued the GT5 forum ever since GT5 released. What should and what should not have been in the game. You, as the buyer, do not choose what should be in the game, you don't spend several millions of dollars to develop the game over several years. You pay $50 when the game is released for the legal right to use the software. If it doesn't float your boat, then fine, don't play it, but do not go and try to sink the ship for others who are doing just fine with the game. Polyphony is not forcing you to play this game, nor are they forcing you to buy their DLC.

And please, stop calling them RM cars. They are NOT RM cars, they are completely new cars based off of cars already in the game, as far as we know. Not little minor updates, entirely new cars. Cut Polyphony some slack. Won't someone?

Please, look back through the spec 2.0 thread before these cars were announced as DLC. 99% of people looking at the screenshot thought the cars were RM cars. Many people expected the cars were part of spec 2.0, just not announced.

Now PD release them as DLC, call them 'touring cars' and suddenly people have changed their mind, they're not RM cars, they're brand new touring cars well worth their money.

Bizarre.

Technically, RM standing for Racing Modified, these Touring Cars are Racing Modified cars. But let's not get things complicated.

In GT5, a Racing Modified car is your standard road car, but is altered significantly, for a fee, to replicate the performance of a race car. These Touring Cars are not going to be acquired via this method of purchasing the car, then going to GT Auto and using the Racing Modification option, but instead, are a completely different set of cars altogether.

Guys, remember this is only the first DLC, and if you don't like the cars you don't have to purchase them. I for one am STOKED about the Miata Touring Car!!! :D

are you sure this is just he first one? I hope if there is a next one they will have more European and American exotic cars. And please add more premium cars and i hope al cars can be modified in there rims. I hope the next DLC is on December.

Entirely new cars it's totally wrong. They are all premium already in the game, so it obvious that they started from that, not from zero. Just like the other rm, but in this case thay are giving the cars already modified.

Personally, call them like you want, it's not an important matter.
Just saying why it's absolutely legit to call them rm.

People say replicate RM with road car, ya ok then....Can normal road machine get same downforce as RM? Same performance? Same weight? Dream on individuals, these are new machine well worth money spent on so stop whinging, do not like? Do not buy and let us who want enjoy them.

Exactly. The RM Vette is basically the GTE car. The interior is different, it has a roll cage, it's an entirely new car. These are new cars. Regardless of what their based off of. "Touring Car" is just a different way of putting "race car". That's what these are. The R35 Touring looks like the GT1 race car in FIA GT1. Give PD some slack, he's from Japan, most of his work is done in Japan, he has access to Japan's cars. Japanese buy GT, besides this is the first DLC, if we get more DLC including cars, hopefully they'll be other ones and this complaining can stop. But it won't stop. It never stops. Not everyone is satisfied, but PD can't please everyone.
