Anybody else seen this?

Its not in the colourshift section but I recently painted a FT86 and once I got back to the GT section (when the car is spinning) it was showing different colours........

I cant remember the name of it but I painted it black but on the corners/down the side when the light hits it, it was showing as quite a bright shade of blue, it looks very cool :sly:

in work at the moment so cant post a pic, and my laptop is broke :ouch: but I can try and upload a pic taken from my iPhone on the GT app :scared:

a Glitch?

hmmmmm, doesnt seem like one, just maybe a missed paint?

when i'm home i'm gonna get some pics, not sure I can upload via the app but I can try via the PS3

...And while you're at it get the name of the paint from your garage.

I think it´s like Midnight Purple colour or the Dark red of the GTR-R35 (don´t know the correct name).
They are only Pearlescent chips (although I would say they are colour shift paints)

I know the Tiefseeblau from the Audi TT looks black, or an extremely deep navy colour, until the light hits it.

It's not a pearl colour it's coded as a solid, although looking today the effect maybe isn't as good as the actual colourshifts but it is still pretty cool.

I think I know what your talking about. I had a Mini Cooper '07 and painted it's rims black and it had a blue shine on it. It was a BMW colour. That's as far as I know. And yes, it's is pretty cool. :sly:

It's not a BMW colour....

I have managed to uploads some pics using my flickr app (best I can do without a my laptop) :(

Anyway, if you go to priesty_lfc on flickr they should be there.......

That looks like the colour I was using. If it's not BMW, it may be from some German company. I like to use colours from cars of the same country. If not maybe a British colour, but I doubt that.

Here's a link you might want to supply: Click Here.

Go to your garage please Sir. What paint name shows up at the top of the screen for this car?

Hopefully it isn't 'Black' as that will make it nearly impossible to find.

11 days and no response?
Nearest thing to this I've found is on the second Subaru in the new dealership (Can't remember the exact model right now) It's a reasonably deep blue which turns to a blackish hue when in indirect light.

Not sure if it's helpful at all, but in real life i know that the Subaru color "Midnight Black Pearl" did this. In real life it wasn't the same effect as what is shown in the posted flickr picture. Similar effect but not quite as extreme. Could definitely be that color though. (at work right now so i can't confirm.)

Edit: also from what i remember, Subaru considered it a standard color, there was no extra charge for it or anything, so even thought he color is Midnight Black Pearl, it could easily be considered a solid color.

Another one which has similar effects is Lapus Lazuli (or something like that) which is from the Lexus LFA, although this is a slightly more purple hue to it.

Here's a pic of the plasma blue silica from the Subaru, installed on an evo >:0)

Just found an even more impressive one - Saphirschwarz from Opel. It's completely black until direct light hits it, whereupon you get an intense neon-like blue. It's not an easy one to get photos of but I'll try and get something up soon.

Edit - Found a car that it worked well with, so here's some shots.

Tuxedo black has a bit of that effect. Black until light hits it directly, and then it becomes dark blue. Beautiful, but also subtle.

Vauxhall Polar Sea Blue is a gorgeous colour (at least IRL) it seems a little dull to me on here, it should throw out gorgeous dark blues, and a nice deep purple too.....

I quite agree...I didn't notice that effect on the Chev that was wearing it when I bought it but the effect shows up quite nicely on the Art Morrison Corvette...Beautiful for sure...👍

The saphirschwarz doesn't seem to work so well on curvy cars for some reason, but works really well for angular ones. Really want to find one that has this same effect but with red instead of blue, so if anyone knows of one please let me know.

I just got a Midnight Blue Clearcoat Metallic paint chip and it is very similar but not as bright, the random 10 chip log in bonus gave it to me but after a quick search turns out to be from the Ford Ford GT '05.
