I got tired of having crappy graphics on Oblivion, so I built me a new computer. :sly:

Antec Performance P180B
Enermax Liberty 500W PSU
ASUS A8N SLI Premium
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Zalman CNPS9500 HSF
2gb OCZ Platinum XTC 2-3-3-5
eVga GeForce 7900GT
74gb Raptor
250gb Diamondmax10

I haven't OC'd it at all yet and I can get 4800 3dmarks on 3dmark06. I'll OC it later on sometime and see what I can get. Overall the P180 is a hell of a case. I've heard alot about it being hard to work with and all because of the PSU being situated at the bottom of the case, but it was relatively easy. You just have to actually plan out how you want everything wired and having a modularly cabled PSU helps out a ton. The HSF works like a champ. My CPU normally runs cooler than my mobo does, its only by one degree celsius, but its still cooler. The ram doesn't come at 2-3-3-5 out of the box, you have to toy with the settings in the BIOS to get those. So far that has been my only gripe with this computer. It has definately been worth what I spent on it so far. :D

So...what did it cost you approximately? And where did you by the parts from.

Any pictures of the rig?

Can't wait to see pictures. Sounds nice.

Well .. without the two HDDs it was $1300 after shipping and I bought everything from Newegg. If you add the HDD cost it comes to around $1600 for what you see listed.

noice. My roomie next semester has that case. careful, the door breaks off easily.

Yeah, I've noticed it isn't the greatest in stability. But I'm a careful type of guy, so I should be ok.

Plus, from everything I've heard Antec is pretty forgiving and will send you a new, stronger door if you break the one it comes with.

Oh, I've forgotten to mention that it runs fairly quite. The only thing you can really hear is the HSF but its just a dull hum, so its liveable.

You bought from NewEgg...👍 I bought my 6800XT,400 watt PSU, 19" LCD Monitor, Logitech G5 Mouse and my AudioFX Headset from there. Best service ever. You have done good.

Nice setup by the way. I wouldn't complain.

Is that Zalman Cooler any good? I really want to get one for my 3200... and I may try to even run it passive... Its huge but is it heavy?

There's a review of it on Tom's, thats actually how I heard of it. Its not really that heavy, the fins are something like a half millimeter thick so they don't carry alot of weight with them. The install was simple, although for the first few hours after seating it you could wiggle the HSF back and forth with the screws tightened all the way down; I haven't messed with it since then but I'm pretty sure it was just a matter of the paste not being bonded yet or something. It keeps the CPU pretty cool, normally cooler than my motherboard. Overall it is definately worth the $63 I paid for it.

I OC'd my CPU/GPU a little and managed to get up to 5400 3dmarks on 06 with no artifacting. However, I noticed a little artifacting in Oblivion, so I've tuned down the settings a tad to take care of that.

The Zalman V900 or something like that is a great GPU cooler, and Zalman is very high-end-quality when it comes to their fans and heatsinks.
