New DLC cars VERY VERY easy to drive?

Even after tuning them to introduce oversteer (stiff rear swaybars, lots of tow out etc etc), they still drive like they are own rails.

Anyone else notice this? I mean the DLC R34 is soooo much more planted than the Mines R34(p) which easily steps sideways.

Even trying to induce oversteer via a scandi flick doesnt unsettle them that much.
 
Ye they do handle well but there not that planted my R34 has a little understeer yet and the back does almost step out somtimes, the R32 & 33 handle evevn better same for the WRX , I think PD gave em more grip (wider wheels) more downforce and the weights not bad either.
 
They are indeed very easy to drive. I think it is especially true for the low-powered cars like the MX5, CRZ and Prius. Those even run quite nicely with minimum downforce and comfort softs! Racing hards is really overkill for those cars IMO.
 
The RX7 isn't easy.
 
All DLC TC cars come with Racing Hard as default compound while all off Skylines are 4WD.

For Roadster TC (MX-5) switch to CS or SH compound.

For RX-7 switch to SH compound.

For all Skylines purchase and install Custom Differential and transform their default 4WD torque-transfer bias to 10<90 in order to achieve RWD-type of handling. Also SH tires compound is a given.

Enjoy the handling, especially RX-7 on SH. For greater challenge, turn ABS off. You'll never forget it.

Agree with Amar212 100% here. For a quick hit change the tyres you are using
 
I'm fairly sure my lancer came with sports soft tires. Ill check again later.
 
When violently scani flicking my R34 or the Subaru into a corner, the rear end doesnt slide much at all. Do the same with my Mines R34 and I can usually drift it through a corner.......

Its almost as if the DLC cars adhere to a different physics engine where sliding is kept to a minimum. I was a little disappointed, especially with the R34. I would have thought having 600hp and ~1150kg would have made it a handful, but it handles just as predictably as a stock R34.

On my race cars, I always use RH. Perhaps I might switch to a sports soft, but I suspect the understeer will only be exacerbated.
 
I've taken the mx5 to about 277hp and it's still hard to get it move at all at the rear on racing tyres. I'll try some different boots to see that makes it more involving.
 
I've joined yesterday a 600pp/RH tires/tire wear/ABS only Spa lounge for touring cars, and the Mazda RX-7 did circles around all other cars. It's a twitchy car, but the corner and straight line speed is awesome (because it's very light). :lol:

So, are PP lounges a joke or is the RX-7 overpowered? :confused:

The R35 is very grippy like the other R35's. With the other GT-R's you have more to fight with oversteer & they are more tail happy. The R34 has nearly as good brakes as the R35. The Evo X has a very good accelation at lower speed, at higher speed you'll get smoked. Might be a good car for small tracks. :sly:

It comes with Sports Medium. Which makes it a rally car, in GT5-terms. :odd:

Yes, and it's the only one you can buy snow and dirt tires for.
 
Cars in real life are easy to drive, get over it! :sly:


Also agree with what Amar said, I just recently started to drive without ABS, it's so much fun!!! :trouble:
 
I've only had a chance to try out the R35 so far, but the stock settings did create some bad understeer. A little tweaking did get it feeling good though. After the above post I think my next tester will be the RX-7!

I thought that was odd. All the other cars came with race hards except that Evo X. I thought PD just didnt like Mitsubishi or something. Good to know it can be used in rally.

I really like the RX-7 TC
 
I've noticed this. The handling of many of the TCs is a bit sterile. I think I'll take some of the pointers in this thread and play around with them a bit.

One positive of this though: The CRZ TC may be the easiest car to drive in the entire game that still has some pep. I like to have at least one car in my garage that is setup for friends who are absolute beginners. A car that has almost boringly easy handling coupled with enough power that it still feels like you're racing. That way they can get used to the wheel and the physics without too much frustration.

It's almost heresy to mention it here but I'm going to have a setting sheet with RS and full downforce on my CRZ.
 
lightweight with some hefty downforce and not too much power is obviously going to be easy
 
Stick on sport hard tyres and get back to me ;)

PP settings are a joke, but yes the RX7 TC is the superior of the bunch. It's a good second faster then my R33 TC and 3.5 seconds faster then my R32 TC. All set at 600PP.

I did notice they were a bit grippy, but the Skylines did have a tendency to understeer, but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the Mines R34 a drift car? :confused:
 
I haven't tried all the cars, but I found that with the special GTR they gave away. Even with lots of tuning changes they still stay pretty much the same.

Most definetly not. The mines car is a tuner demonstrater car that is more a street car, but is supposed to be a 'time attack' type of car.

This is what I was getting at in my OP. Although I didnt a lot of time tuning the car, I did try a few setup changes from standard to more oversteer type setups, and found the car didn&#8217;t respond much at all. I will try using sports tyres and will step up the setup a little more to the drift type and see if the understeer issue will be resolved.
 
The R35 is like pushing a dead pig around.
 
I sure love the way the RX-7 sounds, thats for sure.
