New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

Don't know what's the problem with the GTRs...
PD played a role in the development of it (a somewhat small one but yea) it's only natural there are plenty of them.
I personally like it, and was looking foward to play with this 2012 version.

I think its more the fact that they could be working on "other" vehicles instead of modeling a vehicle we already have. I personally prefer skylines over the GTR, but Im not complaining. The new GTR has a new LED light strip up front and more power. The Skylines, Skyline GTRs, and now the GTRs have been a huge part of the GT series so it honestly, just feels right.

I was not excited about the new DLC but the update and 86 excites me quite a bit. I will still purchase the DLC as it is incredibly cheap again and I want all the cars. I REALLY dont want another kart though. I dont like or use them as it is.

Yeah, 2011 ones would be nice, or we could wait (like real GT fans, we're used to it :P) and get the 2012 ones. I want the HSV-010.

2010 was best. Despite only having 13 cars on the grid, the cars looked better, the liveries on the Cerumo and Kraft cars were still good (became terrible in 2011), and the Denso still had the classic red wheels. The advantages for 2011 are a slightly improved Epson HSV livery and the addition of the S-road Mola GT-R (and the bad looking Wedsport SC430). I'd rather get the 2010 fleet.
 
New sound effects should hopefully mean road, wind, and tyre noise. :) Would love to hear a few stones flicking up on a bare race car shell.

Excited about the wheels for standards. Should have been in from the start.

Either the championship winning HSV from '10 or the #1 from '11 would be best. #1 makes it look more attractive.

If there is a GT-R that should be added, it should be this S Road MOLA GT-R. Champion this year, so shouldn't be passed up here either.

I really want to see more GT300 though. There's hardly any in this game when you have potential for things like the winning Z4 this year, the Mooncraft Shiden, Jimgainer 458/430 and tons of others that are missing. It's why the only GT300 that has ever really caught my eye is the standard C-West Razo Silvia from the last game.

I'm also hoping that racing sounds doesn't mean engine sounds for all cars...if they get rid of some of the better sounds that don't match the car in real life I won't be happy.

First, it's overpriced, at 1$/euro a car.
Second, the only actually new (= that is not a more or less slight variation of an existing model) car is the VW Scirocco R.
Third, with a few tweaks they could have included slower versions/different trim/engines for added randomness/variety.
Fourth, in the end I don't really care much about recent car models, seriously (but that's just my opinion. I prefer older cars).

Most of rest is attempts to fix things that took PD a year to either figure out or realize. It looks like they only rarely play their games.

On the other side, improved in-race sounds and the free Toyota 86 will be interesting to see.

This is my number one question at the moment. I think Kaz mentioned in a tweet a while ago that mismatched account/disc regions would be impossible to overcome? I really hope that's not the case!


Nice feature set with the upcoming patch PD! Looking forward to it.

The patch is almost useless and the online is ridiculous and almost unplayable. :(

Lol, the patch is almost useless?? How? And you should be grateful that they didn't add 4 more japenese cars in the DLC. If you don't like it go cry somewhere else please.

I'm sure each car costs more than a $1 to make..

I had the same approach to the selection of "new" cars as you did, I'm disappointed with the lack of fresh cars.. But if PD do it right, a variant of one car can feel like a whole other..

I like the idea of lower spec models.. It would add to the variety and make certain cars underrated, which are the ones I love to drive..

I'm very excited about the GT-86, with the AE86 being my favourite car.
 
I can finally change wheels on standards :D

The DLC, I might buy. Although I'd personally like a few more faster cars e.g. Lamborghini Aventador.

But still, nice job PD.

Well, you can't please everyone lol. I personally am happy to just get new content from time to time while in between other games that I play. The changing of wheels on standards is worth it alone.

I will admit that I would have liked a few "old school" tracks, but maybe in the next DLC/update?

the 2013 gtr will be released at the beginning of 2012, with more hp, improved suspension and again with millions of editions (the "track pack version" only for the japanese market, which seems to be a substantial update to the car; black mask, v-spec, etc. etc.).

The game will be outdated just in a couple of months lol

etc.

But other than that I'm very excited for this update. Although the refresh cards will be a very tough decision
 
Im a huge MINI fan so im very happy to get this DLC. Also the Golf + Scirocco look sexy. I think we all need to take our hats off to PD for continuing to update the game to improve it and provide CHEAP DLC.
 
It seems another good update to be honest, a free car, standard rims, improved sounds (probably not engine sounds), GT Auto remastered.

I will be always grateful for any update, they are free and keeps the game on business.

DLC is better than it seems, more up to date cars, the GTR will be a beast no matter how many we already have, Scirocco R is a beauty.

The best 50 euros spent on my whole life, no other product have given me so many hours of pure joy. I will buy all DLCs because I love cars and to support PD.

So you don't want the car pack because most of the cars are variations of cars already in the game, but then you turn around and say that they could have included more cars by making variations of what we're getting?

Does that not make sense to anyone else? :confused:

Edit: And people complaining over spending $4 is ridiculous. That will hardly buy you a proper meal now days. I only have $20 to spare over the next 3 weeks and $4 of it is going towards this DLC, and you don't see me complaining.
 
I'm happy, people expect to much.. Nobody is forcing you guys to buy it, and don't feed me the "if we don't complain PD won't give us better DLC" crap. I can understand why people are "upset" though, and don't feed me the "complaining about complaining" crap either.. I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning that we can now change rims on standards, hasn't that been a wanted feature since release?
 
Well.... I'm going to need a PSN card because this new DLC is awesome (I am a tad bit disappointed with the Mini though)

I love the Scirocco and the GT-R though :p

And a free GT-86 SO AWESOMEE!!!

Also i'm liking the wheels in Standard cars that is a nice add on :)

I am still buying the DLC ... I just hoped for a few more cars maybe a track or 2.
To me the wait until the next DLC is the main problem. I think if you knew something else was coming sooner it wouldn't make each one such a event.

Little nervous buying the DLC cars in the dealer isn't mentioned in the patch notes either... :scared:
 
Huge yawn on the DLC car list. Who asked for the mini the VDubs and the GTR? Someone said They can tell Kaz is listening but this DLC list lol. The cars I've consistently seen asked for on my threads have yet to show up in any DLC I've seen.

I really hope the racing sounds improvement will finally make my Vettes and others sound like proper engines in RL. I will love this part of the DLC if it's this kind of improvement to car sounds.

The wheels for standards is a nice touch. I'd like for them to make all premium wheels available to all premium cars however. I hate the limited selection each premium gets.

Gotta say as someone who gave in and purchased the DLC I'm not jumping for joy at the free cart or resets. Not into carting and don't really care bout resetting my old cars.

What EXACTLY does this mean? GT5 update, meaning patches and improvements to features already in the game, and DLC, meaning the cars for download, I get. But the CHRISTMAS PRESENT is the item I don’t think I fully grasp. Has it been mentioned on Sony’s blog or is it something PD hasn’t even talked about, like say there actually IS a new track coming or something else significant?

There are features here that people have been asking for for a long time so they will/should be very happy.

I am concerned that we still haven't had leaderboards implemented but I am happy to wait until they are happy that the game is fixed and up to scratch first, who knows this feature may never come but I will not let it effect my enjoyment I get out of this game a year in :)

As for the DLC, happy enough with that also but will jump on the wagon and say that I would also like some knew tracks, hopefully in the next update this is what PD has in store for us :cheers:
