So here it is. Set to debut at the 12 hours of Sebring. It's a new closed cab version with a wider overall cab to limit claustrophobia. The driver will also sit in he center of the cockpit to aid in visibility and help with safety. It is also designed to comply with 2014 LMP1 regulations. Since Nissan has stepped down from the project, Elan Motorsports Technologies has since stepped up to the plate. The new car will reportedly feature a turbo 2.0L four cylinder, said to produce 345hp and 350ft-lb of torque. Interesting.

Call it funky. Call it weird. This car is nowhere near beautiful. However, I do think this weird machine is very cool. Unlike people who try to find everything in the book to hate on this car; I, for one think this is a very unique and interesting car as well as an machine important towards the future of efficient racing cars. I think this is the most unique prototype this decade. It is this decade's Panoz LMP Roadster as far as unique prototypes are concerned.

It will be interesting seeing this car in action and driven in anger.
 
Well at least the Toyota TS030s will see this car now... unless the drivers aren't blinded when the sun hits the car.
 
I love the uniqueness of the design as I did with the original.

Chrome, though... a bit too flashy for my tastes.
 
Yeah I wasn't too keen on the chrome. Hope when they actually drive it they change the paint so it doesn't blind the driver.
 
The original Deltawing looked good, this one is hideous. Closed cockpit canopies work well on proper LMP1 and LMP2 cars, but not here. If it perfoms as well as the original, then the aesthetically challenging styling may be forgiven.
 
The only thing I would change is giving the cockpit canopy a longer incline so it's not flat, straight up and down almost. Might make it a bit more aerodynamic.
 
Figured there'd be a thread on it. Couldn't find anything when I searched.
 
The styling may not be beautiful, but in engineering terms it's one of the most beautiful race cars out there. I'm glad that it's still going.
