Im loving it too. Im currentky half way through 5 hr nurburgring and am going to bed.
Finaly i can do the endurance races without having to ignore my family for a whole day!

As my son has already found out .... be aware when using the enduro in-race save that the custom soundtrack sometimes reverts backs to the standard one.

If when you restart in the pits you get the standard music just exit the game and restart GT5, your custom music may (or not) then play again. It is a bit erratic but then we know the custom music implementation is poor.

I'm currently 4 1/2 hours into the 24hrs lemans race. Got a question... If I suspend the race at some point, the game saves.

If I load it up for another few hours of racing later, and during the race somebody shuts down GT5... will I be able to load the game again back at the point I suspended it?

Surely not, the save is lost as soon as you load it up unfortunately.

Edit: Sorry, according to the next post I was totally wrong, my bad.

Yes. Tested it yesterday.

So i'd done the first 2 hours of the 4 hour roadster enduro at Tsukuba when I decided to call it a night. I pulled into the pits, suspended the race and went to bed.

The next day I came back to finish the race off. I hit "continue from where you left" (or whatever it is) and then on my screen. I see the car steaming outside the pitlane (still under AI control). It then drives past the pit entry entirely, then when reaching the part where the pit box should be. It crashed into the pit wall, then reversed back, then into the wall again. Repeatedly, until it cleared the wall completely. After passing the pit lane wall, The car is now driving itself around the track, lapping at about 1:15 a lap (I was lapping at 0:59-1:03)

I took a video of car lapping itself, and i'm going to upload it to youtube now. I'll keep you posted on how the race pans out, and what happens when I run out of fuel etc.

Update 1: Completely out of fuel, car is now travelling at 80 km/h... Car is still not pitting.
Update 2: Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a13zoG2saU (Sorry for the poor quality, it was captured on my ipod in a hurry)
Update 3 (The plot thickens): After falling back to 12th place with half an hour to go. I gave up. Though I had an Idea. After suspending the game, it tells you to quit via the ps button. So I did that exact thing, reloaded GT5, and whaddya know? It's loading the suspended race. Except this time, I dont click anything in the pit window, the car still exits the pits, but instead of being under AI control. I'm still the driver!

I started Tsukuba 9h Endu yesterday and found out an nasty thing, I did suspend the race after 1.5 hour, and continued as planned during the morning, well, I had wearn off tires and game sended me into the race without changing tires / refueling, so I decided to pit in on the next lap, well, I thought it was alright but my car wasnt taken in the pit, it just drove through pitline while I had the control of the car.

1. No car were able to do pitstop
2. Happened to AI cars too
3. I tried to gain 1st place after this accident, noticed I am slightly slower than AI even every car got 80km/h maximum speed due to empty fuel tank
4.good I wasnt near the end of the race

Ouch! So the whole field was driving around with no fuel?

You can save at Tsukuba. But you must enter the pits properly, no last minute dives into pitlane (I think the "saving" point is placed before to prevent this kind of unrealistic dives into pit lane).

PS - Take what I said as fact, not opinion, I tested all this myself.

I'm thinking there has always been a pit lane bug at Tsukuba. I could be wrong but this sounds really familiar.

My pitstop save went mad when I tried to continue Tsukuba 9h today, I weren't able to do pitstops at all, either was AI too. Not sure was it because of "wrong" section for save or just a glitch that caught me.

You might be right, I guess if you came in fast enough on your own this might happen? Though this was completely the AI's doing.

I've said that in the other topic, but I will repeat it.

Tsukuba pit entrance is very narrow and tight corner without barriers. I don't know where the game reads the speed for resuming the race, but I suspect it reads it a little bit to early. So if you brake just enough to make it, and suspend the race, you will not make the corner and skid off back to the track, maybe not gaining control.

So, the solution is: When you know, you will suspend the race at the next pitstop, when the entrance lane begins on the right, slow down before it to 80-100 km/h (50-60 mph) and keep the speed until computer gains control. I haven't tested greater speed, but that seems enough and after that I haven't crashed off the pit lane entrance.
I've tried it for a few times and it worked for me. I prefer to lose 5 seconds here by going slowly to pits, than lose 7 hours of driving because of stupid bug.

PD can fix it by starting the computer control our car after the corner, but we don't know if they will.

what hun said. the pitlane starts at the end of the back straight. not at the gap you can see right at the end of the wall as you pretty much exit the corner. be in the pitlane at the end of the straight not going warp speed & it'll work as it should

I thought I'd give this a test today. So I picked the 4hr Roadster Tsukuba race on A-Spec. Did the first 20 laps until the rear tyres were done and pitted. I chose suspend and quit as per instructions. Reloaded the game and it resumed fine up until the car moving bit. I was greeted by a view of my MX-5 careering out of the pit lane and into the gravel beside the final right-hander. The PS3 then continued on, I expected it may try again next lap. As soon as the car crossed the start/finish line it chucked a handbrake and attempted to pit by smashing through the wall. It did this until reaching the end if the wall at the pit exit, and then carried on round. I thought that maybe it would try after the next lap. It didn't, it just kept circulating under PS3 control and didn't pit as the tyres became worse.

I have similar problem at the 4hour roadster race. When i load the game car starts hitting the wall repeatedly and i cant do anything.
I hope PD will release a patch soon, because i've waited year to play endurance races, i dont want to wait another year.

Hello,

Today I start the 9 hours of Sukuba
After one hour I drove to the pit and I can save the game
I stopped the game
after start up I want to drive further
The game asked me to start at the point I was stopped
I said yes
Now it comes
The car drives for his own no steering possibility
It drives only to walls ed.

I think there is a big bug on spec 2.0

Bloody just gone 4am when i finished. Jumping from 3/4 of level 36 to 1/4 way up level 38 was nice though thanks to the 200% bonus. 24hr here we come :)
