New Endurance Save glitch

I got porked 7.5 hours into mine. I couldn't fix it either. I would say just do what I did. Back up your save to a USB stick, another account on your PS3 or onto the cloud if you're a PS Plus member, in hopes that another patch comes out to actually fix it.

Then just exit out of the race and continue doing other things. I just wouldn't do anything milestone worthy in case there's a patch and you have to go back to the older save.

i backed up my save thats one of the first things i did when i encountered the glitch. if i exit the race so i can do other things will loading back up the old save still be fine? it wont effect any data at all? never did that before for fear of possibly screwing something up

Oh....No. You're going to be going back to that save if a fix is ever patched in. So you'd lose everything you've done on the save since then. So don't like move on to the 24 hour races. Because you'd lose that. Just do stuff you don't mind losing. It's just an option, I'm not saying it's ideal. It's just what I'm doing. Just keeping that save aside, otherwise I'm just goona give up on the 3 last endurance races. But in the meantime, it's a good time to experiment with the new paints on cars I think I may like them on. I can just get them back anyway by going back to the old save.

I've come to one conclusion so far. Flourecent Yellow is the ONLY color for the Yellow Bird for me. They were meant to be together.

Haha can't disagree with the florescent yellow paint on the yellow bird. I haven't gotten the dlc yet either and want to get it before nov 7th for the extra stuff. If I exit to get the dlc put on then re load the save if a patch fixes the issues would that effect my dlc(like losing it)? Sorry for asking a lot of questions lol

I hit suspend once the car had slowed to pit speed and was about to pull into the garage, on resuming, Bob was under control and sliding everywhere and wouldn't pit in. PD's 'fix" has failed. PD, did you actually test this patch? Jesus Christ on a memory card, how hard can it be to make the mid nrace save work at Tsukuba? Thats twice you've failed at this PD, your failing PD, what is it with you and failing?

HMMM...

It is possible to get the NASCAR 2010 Joey Logano Fantasy Camry from a 2010 Bday ticket.
But once you save, exit the game, and restart it will be gone from the garage. Apparently even if you were 'in' the fantasy Camry, you'll be in the last car you purchased when you reload the save data.
What would happen if you were in the fantasy Camry in an endurance race, then 'suspended' the game. Would the fantasy Camry reload? would the game not load?
Would you have to do this endurance save every time you quit playin gt5 to keep the car?
I'm really wondering if there is any way to keep this car in the garage...

As much as I love PD, I agree this should already have been fixed.

Its blatantly obvious that PD does not play test patches. How many patch of a patch must we go through before people get a clue about PD. We are their play testers, their Quality Control department. They don't have to spend money on payroll or medical benefits for a real QC dept since we do it for them......for free. And we actually pay PD to play test for them by buying there unfinished product lol.....Brilliant PD.

I got the glitch too so I refuse to play Tsukuba anymore. Havent gotten the glitch on the other enduros though so thats good news. Maybe they will get it right by GT6 or GT7 or maybe never since most of us seem happy to keep paying/playing by PD's rules.

After I backed up my save last night, I exited out of the race and restarted it just to check something like this. What I decided to do was to not hit the suspend button until I came to a complete stop in the pits. Restarted the game and still it starts you back at the enterance to pit road, which means the glitch could still happen.

thanks for testing the idea out, shame it doesn't work. It highlights a clear fundemental flaw with the save system and Tsukuba.

I dont see what the deal is Im doing the 9 hr one and so far had no problems what so ever, Manage to enter the pits like you should (Down to 70 mph) hit suspend and quite, restarted the game and I had full control over it...Yall must be doing something wrong or stop using the X2010/2011.

It happened to me in the 4 hour Tsukuba Race... try using a X2010 in a Race MX5 / Eunos Roadster Race :ouch:

Then again in the 9 hour Tsukuba race with the "new" Impreza from the DLC pack.

This is race is just broken.

A tad condescending there.

First two times it worked for me third time it did not, I entered pits identically every time.

Not exactly a glitch, but I didn't want to create a new thread only for this question:

I started the 24 Hours of Le Mans, suspended the race and started it(GT5) again.

I wanted to play Online and clicked "Cancel" when the little Race Resume window popped up.

After playing a bit online, I wanted to resume the race and restarted GT5, but the window was gone. Is this the normal condition? Do I have to finish the race in order to do anything else in GT5?

Thanks in advance for answers. :)

Not a glitch.
A glitch is something unexpected that is an advantage, or at least fun.

This thread is about a bug.

Sorry, but.....
Hmmm, prob. not best first post on a new forum but still.

You have to do race completely in order to do anything else. Just completing Nurburgring 4 hours.

@Tassie
Another completely useless reply which doesnt help the slightiest... Why bother answering this crap? A glitch could be a bug as well, fyi. :/

@Limier

Thank you very much. Didnt know that.

I would've preferred if they made it in a way in which one would've been able to do other stuff in GT5 and resume the race whenever you want... Oh well. :)

I am 6 hours into the 9 hours of Tsukuba, and I entered the pits ( not pit lane, but the actual pits) and saved. When I loaded the race I see bob driving on pi lane, and he turns off of pit lane and continues driving. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've been avoiding the Tsukuba 9h because of this issue, but I've got some thoughts on it.

Has anyone established whether this glitch/bug is linked just as much to tyre wear as to entry speed. Therefore, is there a safe amount of tyre wear to enter and suspend which if you're also entering below a certain speed (50mph?) will ensure the bug doesn't occur.

If this hasn't been established, I wonder if this is something that could be tested. I can have a look at this, but it may take me some time as, having a young family, I don't get a lot of time to play.

just completed the 4 hour roadster endro with the MX5. saved and resumed the race about 3/4 times fine, after the 3rd hour i continued the race but the car drove straight through the pits without changing tyres and refueling. The AI cars had the same problem, every lap they pitted but kept driving straight through.

Slow down to 50 mph before the pit entrance.
Jumping into pit lane at the last second or while going too fast will cause a pit drive by! Ra-ta-ta-tat!

Also wait until the car is in the garage area before suspending the race. :)

I just ran into this problem again in Tsukuba 9h. 5 hours in and saved/resumed ok probably 3 or 4 times. This time I resume and bob drives the car straight through the pits and keeps going. Does the car ever totally run out of gas? If not I am tempted to let it play out for the next 4 hours as I think I have a big enough lead to win, if not I could use the points.

Just completed Sarthe 24hr. I suspended the race every time I pitted and backed up each game save - so that if one failed I could go back 30 mins or an hour rather than lose the whole race progress. I made sure I arrived in the pits at 50mph. It worked every time, not a single glitch. But the pit lane is a bit wider than Tsukuba and easier to navigate. What cheeses me off is that I drove this race everyday for a week and now my logon bonus is at 6 museum cards and 130% - but I logged on every day!! Come on PD!
BTW I used the Bentley Speed 8, a dream of a car; and it was the best race ever!

I had this situation occur on Tsukuba 4hours with the Miata (DLC RC version) just recently, @ 3:14:00ish of my 4 hours.

I wanted to play something else, so it was time to pit.
I've learned that pitting too fast kicks you back on to the track for another lap, unless you are travelling at 50mph or less.

In this case I was pitting at the 3:14:00 mark roughly, and pulled into the pit lane @ 50mph, and slowed down to ~45mph, and then the the AI took over, which brought me back up to 50mph, and then prompted me for the "suspend" option, which I selected, waited for it to save, and then turned off the game.

When I eventually came back to it, I was on the pit lane before the actual pit, and the AI skipped the car out of the pit lane, and back on to the track. AI was in full control and would not pit at all from there on.

The last 45 minutes of the race was completed by the AI. Luckily I had plenty of gas in the tank at the time, and my tires were in decent enough shape that he didn't do anything stupid or need to pit otherwise.

This would suck if I was earlier on, or anytime, really, on a longer endurance race.
Overall, not a cool bug.
