Am I the only one seeing the irony in Maldonado's number?
I'm not superstitious by any means, I was born on a 13th, but F1 has some history with the number 13. That history sure is befitting of everyone's expectations of Maldonado
Vettel will be with 1 this year, will use the #5 after this year.
Have faith, maybe Chilton will choose it.... or maybe he'll choose 3.1214Nobody chose #42.
I have no reason to care for F1 anymore.
Not that much history, actually.F1 has some history with the number 13.
If you go back a bit further in history, there were numerous cases where the driver of car 13 had unfortunate accidents, as to why the superstition mentioned in the article came to be. But I agree calling it F1 might have been a bit wrong.
What happened to naming cars in order of championship standing from the previous year?
The most interesting thing I noticed from the number list was how few drivers chose high numbers - most stuck to numbers that have been around in F1 for some time.
I'd like to know why Hamilton chose 44 - the only reason I can think of is it's his first race win (#2) multiplied by his first championship (#22).

Think about it. You'll get the joke.Only if he planned on following Webber to Porsche.
I must the only one in here who couldn't care less about what number what driver wants and all the speculation that has been going on around it.
Kimi showing sentiment:
“It’s the number I already had last year and I saw no reason to change it. I like it which is good enough isn’t it?”
Or Code 60.I think 911 would have been a better choice for Maldonado.
He won't. The FIA entry list confirms that he will continue to use #1 in 2014, with #5 reserved for future use.Given the fact that #1 have a spotty history in IndyCar and MotoGP for being cursed when it come to the world champ, here's hoping vettel runs his #5
