Like I said in another thread. Good comes to those who wait. ;)

Enjoy you lucky peeps who have such a nice wheel. Happy New Year and the best for the new year as well.

I loaded it and tried it on Forza4. I took a Ferrari 430GT to Hochenheim against other GT class cars in a Tour Legends event and won easily. I lapped a full second faster than the the other 430GT's in the race.

The wheel was noticeable smoother requiring less corrections and therefore causing fewer errors. It allowed me to drive even closer to the edge. This is much better than the G27.

The wheel centering issue has also been fixed on start up. The wheel now moves to a centered positon when the start button is pushed. No more danger of breaking your finger getting it in to PC mode.

Still no update for regular CSR users or other users? The CSR came out with the same wheel center issue that I pointed out a long time ago which everybody in here failed to notice for some odd reason, amazing how it was noticed so quickly on the CSR E though

Anybody have any info on when a new firmware will be released for other wheels? I take it the expense of the CSR E is why it's users are treated like royalty, but yet the CSR has been released longer and still no update :grumpy:

Sorry for the rant, but I would also like this wheel center issue to go away :ouch:

Happy New Year guys

Thomas answered to someone's post in his blog about adding ACL to CSR wheel and said that it is in work and should come soon. It probably fixises other problems too.

Thanks, I read that a while ago and was hoping there would be another update on the matter.👍

I wouldn't be so bothered about it at the moment if it wasn't for seeing all the attention the CSR E gets, customers of the CSR have had one update since release, the CSR E is on it's 3rd or 4th now and it's only been out a couple of weeks.:ouch:

It appears that the "squeaky" wheel does not get the grease in this instance. More like the "money" wheel has more priority. :sly: I was sent the firmware update for the "common" CSR, if you will, quite awhile ago. It was a beta version, not for public release. I never paid it anymore attention as, I was "fixed". Seems strange that it is still not released.

Just updated mine. Have not tried it, but the new loader is much better. Now it's like using Windows 95, versus DOS on the old one

Like the new auto centering feature.

I also have the 706 firmware but that was only to fix the issues with saving wheel settings and the buzzing noise when in xbox mode.

I am hoping the new firmware for the CSR will fix the wheel center issues, like they have just done with the CSR E.

I don't think it was a case of more money getting more attention. Up until a few days ago, the CSRE had a firmware which most were complaining about, where as the CSR has a firmware that works for most people. I think they are focusing on the CSRE because Thomas promised it before Christmas and some bugs came to light a bit late in the game, when wheels were already in transit to the warehouse.

I'm sure you will get the attention the CSR does indeed deserve, as they are very confident that the outstanding CSRE issues have been fixed.

One thing I am unsure of is if the GT2 will get the same updates as the CSR, considering they share many of the same components.

This is great news, although I cannot download it right now. The 911wheel site is working very slowwwwwwwwwwllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyy. I keep starting the download, if I can even get the page to load, and it is taking forever. Must be too many Elite owners on at once. LOL. Will try again later.

The new 721B firmware for the Elite is beautiful. Simple install and ran around 7 races in R1. Beat my best lap times on two of the seven. Very smooth now around the center.

Ok, I couldn't wait till tomorrow, had to give it a go with FM4 tonight. The driving experience is much improved. The dead zone issue is totally gone and everything just feels right so far.

With regards to the FAN, it appears that when the default is set to "ON" the fan operates at a much higher RPM then it did with FW 715. I posted this on the Fanatec site as well, hopefully this is not how it's supposed to be and will be updated with the next release.

I downloaded and installed FW 721B. I played Forza 4 for about 2 hours. The FFB deadzone is completely gone and now the FFB is silky smooth everywhere. The wheel just feels incredibly smooth now. With 715 there was a little bit of a sandpaper feeling when turning the wheel and now it is completely gone. Now when drifting and recovering from a slide the FFB effects just feel so natural and make driving on the edge that little bit easier. This is a huge improvement in every way.

The fan being on by default might have been done because it is a Beta firmware that they made public. Just to be safe as it hasn't been properly tested yet.

Glad to hear everything is wonderful with the firmware. Seems like the Elite is maturing nicely.
At the above comment for the CSR. I don't know about any new releases for it, but since this will be the wheel everyone is looking at I think Thomas wants to get it sorted reasonbly well. You will probably get some much needed love soon as well.
Also the Elite is not the "money wheel" or whatever. I think the CSW is the one that'll costs us a lot more money. lol

What he said. 👍

Did anybody notice the fan being stronger after the update? It feels like I'm cooling my hands from the sweat at a bowling alley. Or maybe it's just me recovering from a major hang over from last night's New Year's celebration lol

The update seems beautiful though. I love how it auto centers when powering on now. Time for more testing with GT5 ;)

Edit: Hey Bimmer I just saw your post and glad I wasn't the only one that noticed. It is indeed stronger than 715. I might just run it at auto for now. At least we know the motors are being iced lol

Try to put it to temperature related control yourself.(with turbo S this is done by pressing four lower thumb buttons at the same time after centering rotation)

I had a PM from Mr T 3 days ago that i will be released soon.

Somehow i knew this morning when i woke up, i had to check the website.

Update went smooth. This firmware brings the wheel to a whole new level\

WOW

I start to feel like I am watching Dragonball Z or something. Leveling up and obtaining new powers. By comparison it should be in Super Saiyen mode now I think. lol

De beste wensen aan jouw en familie Henkus. ;)

Or bring the wheel where it's suppose to be:)

LOL. That is actually a very good analogy. The wheel has definitely leveled up and received powers I didn't think were possible before.

I'm glad you guys are getting to see what the Elite is capable of. It's been hard running different FW to you guys and only being able to keep telling you it gets better. 👍 now you know what I was saying..

The update tool must be better because I don't see anyone having problems this time. I had no problem getting 715 onto the wheel but I couldn't use the fanatec tool on the pc.

With 721 I didn't restart the computer or close any programs at all. On a windows 7 64 machine it worked very well. The fanatec wheel shortcut is now on my desktop and works as well.

I've only played Forza 4 with it so far and the slop is gone from the center which is nice. I feel more comfortable leaving the car on the edge of the track.

Something is different with the FF. I have it turned down in the game but with the new FW it's almost like it's been bumped up. I'm sure I can change some settings to get the feel I want but I haven't noticed anyone talking about the strength of it.

Hopefully Sonac will run some more tests and post his results.
