I quite like it. Its a straight Iosis chop.

They should bring that over here instead of this rebadged Fusion which is a rebadged Mazda...
(Mercury Milan)

...Thats the Milan, not the Fusion. Same car, different grille.

The new Mondeo makes me wish that Ford would have kept the Contour (same car) here a while longer...

I like it! 👍 👍 Now, if only Ford would come to their senses and sell that over here.

I think everyone would, not too cost effective though for a car like this.

I know, if you reread my post I was suggesting that the Milan be replaced by the Iosis/Modeno and the Fusion continue to be Madza6-based...

The renders look awesome! I don't think the nam Mondeo really fits that shape, though; that shape screams high performance, big power, and great handling to me. They should change the name. How about Iosis? Sounds good to me.

This is beautiful:

So is this:

I still am considering getting a Fusion, but the regular Mazda6 is on my list also. The insurance for the Fusion is less than either one of my Focus'. If I still decide to go the saloon route it'll be a choice between those two--otherwise the GTO and Mustang GT are my other 2 choices.

Now that is a car that will bring respect to the name Mondeo, just a nice design compared to the previous dull designs. I'm not a huge Ford fan but I hope this gets built close to the renderings cause I would love to see them on the road.

I probably wouldn't of called it Mondeo, but something else so people don't think of it as cheap and rubbish, but advertise it as a Mondeo replacement if you know what I mean.

Based on all of the Mondeo trash-talk I've heard/read from Brits, I'd have to agree.

GM knows when to put a name away -- look at the Pontiac G6 and Chevrolet Cobalt. *coughGrandAm/Prixcough* *coughCavaliercough*

nice...tho it makes me think mabey ford is digging up the Aston design guys for it...or Jag's. i prefer the slim chome grill in the Mondy replacement to america's "chrome venetian blinds" look grills

remeber why the Mondy clones didn't sell in the US? they didn't fit the average american's 2 meter height or 100 kilo mass. i'm only 5'8"/1.70+ and I'm folded in half in anything smaller than a US Crown Vic. this is why americans have a love affair with a pickup truck or SUV...so the 6 footers of generation x and y don't have to stick their heads out of the sunroof with the seat all the way down and all the way back to accomidate a meter and a half of legs :P

I don't believe that; I'm 5'7" and ~155 lbs and I fit just fine in a Impreza or Civic hatch with room to spare. A bigger car makes me feel safer (I know I may not be any safer) but I still fit in the smaller cars.

If there should ever be a Ford Fusion SVT (or something like that)...that would be definately on my to buy list

I'm 6'0" 150 and I fit into pretty much anything as well.

Though I agree this doesn't quite seem like a mondeo.

Looks nice and yeah does seem a bit similar to the Astons and Jags (a bit worrying!). Doesn't look like a very practical shape for a family saloon though and the visibilty looks like it would be poor, the estate looks more realistic. Looks like they stole the Laguna rear lights though ;)

There'll no doubt be STTDCi, ST170 and ST220 models. I have seen them all quite often.

Well I'm impressed. I've not liked the Mondeo up until now but this design is good. Should sell well.

Still think the Focus is horrible though:yuck:, in fact the 2nd version of the Focus is worse than the first.

Hot dang I love the alloys and the headlights in the first photo.

But I like the current Mondeo. :(

Crisp, clean lines :(

I like the current Mondeo as well. Too bad we didn't get those here...... I thought the pic of the new one was based on Iosis. Looks sweet, only if it was a real car.

Mondeo did not have size issue in the U.S. Like everyone's been saying, I'm 5'10", I fit into everything just fine, except a back seat of Mustang or Mini's. My friends who are over 6 foot does fine as well. Lots of them drive small cars. One major problem with Mondeo's in the U.S., which of course was called Contours: Parts were super expensive! Probe had same problem as well. If you are on a budget, you'll have a very hard time fixing those cars, so most end up in a wrecking yard. Probe was based on MX-6(mazda), Contour was from Europe, so that's probably why the parts are so expensive. It's not bad at all with Focus, which is another European designed car, so looks like Ford can do it right if they try. I'm sure they worked on parts distribution on Fusion(mazda based) as well, keeping the costs realistic.

Why does ford always sell the junk in America? I kind of like the euro fords.

Different stereotypical tastes I suppose.

Note that no family Fords here are available with a V8.

They wouldn't sell many at all, imagine how much the school run would cost over a year,
