Just recently bought the Logitech G27 and haven't been able to enjoy it because I don't have a wheel stand or rig at the moment. I will be using this mostly for Gran Turismo 6 and maybe branch of into iRacing in the future.I am still unsure on the wheelstand or rig I will be using and still researching. I am pretty set on the mods I will be going with and have listed them below.

1.) Ebrake Mod (Using Honda S2000 Ebrake)
2.) TSS Brake Mod
3.) Honda Integra Type R DC5 Shifter Mod

1.) Really don't like the handbrake setup on the logitech shifter and having to reach for a button and wanted to use a Honda S2000 E-brake assembly.
I read the Chillichoke guide a couple times. The last part loses me he states to use your creativity in wiring it up. I have no issues when it comes to soldering but just needed a little more clarification.I was looking to buy Ebrake on Ebay(Click Me). Does the switch come as part of the assembly ?? only ask because the seller wasn't sure. If it does, is there a guide or diagram for the soldering points on the Honda S2000 Ebrake Assembly?

2.) Like the hydraulic setup versus the default travel methor or the load cell mods out there. $194 is a little expensive but just wanted to be as realistic as possible and its compatible w/ GT6 which is a plus since some of the load cell options are not compatible w/ GT6

3.) If anyone has performed the Shifter mod can you provide links to reviews or first impressions instead of the same side by side vid I keep finding. If possible a tutorial for installation and a link for the parts needed would be most appreciated.

PS. I am still researching Wheel Stands and Rigs. Only thing I have decided on is not to use a Wheel Stand Pro because the shifter is the same height as the wheel. Any suggestions would be helpful as well in sorting thru the Master listed posted in the forum. Thanks

In reply to number one about the Ebrake mod. Most cars with lever handbrakes like the S2000 have a switch with 2 wires connected. When the lever is down (brake released) the switch is pressed and it opens the electrical circuit turning off the light on the cars dashboard. When you pull the lever the switch closes the circuit allowing the light to come on. This has the same effect on the Circle button circuit on the G27. I used a handbrake and switch from an EP71 Toyota Starlet. It works very well apart from it not being progressive like a normal car. But most race cars where you would use the handbrake are pretty much on or off.

Make sure you get the lever with the switch and enough wire to connect it to the wires you install in the shifter unit. You will also need a spring to get the lever to return automatically.

You won't need it, as @GDII says there's only one switch on the handbrake and most likely only two or three pins on it to solder to. Just make sure the handbrake you get still has the switch and that it isn't damaged; some that have been forcibly removed from cars (breakers yards don't often give a damn whether the thing still works post-removal) have the pins on the switch broken off which renders them useless, and you'll be fine. Then it's just a case of soldering two ends of two wires, if you need help with it after that just upload some photos of the handbrake and switch here and we'll be able to help you out for sure.

If your handy with wood you could build the RS1 DIY rig. The plans are $29.95 and come with cut out templates you lay on the wood and cut out. The lumber & hardware will run you between $125 - $150. depending on what you have laying around your house. A nice seat from JEGS will run around $169.

It took me about a week of off and on building it and now painting it.

Get the Brake Cell Mod by AP Electrix (cheapest and best Brake Cell out there), and the Brass Optical Encoder by CM Laser Service just in-case if the G27 starts losing center in the future. JUST beware that using it on the new G27 (refreshed with Black Box) won't calibrate because the spokes and holes of the OEM optical encoder has been decreased and seems to be bit more durable to cracking, but it's still plastic :( If you have the one with the green and black; you're good! 👍

@TakumiFuji01, are you sure at lasercut wheel is not working on refresh version?
Just thought at it is only counting clicks until hit to limit on calibration, and don't have any "solid amount" of clicks what there should be coming.

Nope, doesn't work. Tried it. It's because of the slots...there's less now & the new firmware only recognizes the new one only

did you get any info on the Honda Integra Type R DC5 Shifter Mod?

Just got a G27 this week to replace my DFP and this mod caught my eye as I drive a one of those in real life ;)

I have the wheelstand pro, the metal plate that holds the shifter can be turned upsidedown, so it is then lower than the wheel. its stable under heavy use, folds up nice and neat. I love it
